oooh! several related thoughts
(1) this au is a blast, it’s a very non-obvious crossover that nonetheless works really, really well - i think it’s the underlying genre match that really sells it, the vibe of the silm clashes hard with most modern works but the trojan war is equally mythic, equally grand, equally tragic. it feels like these worlds speak enough of the same language they could have something real to say about each other, like they’re variations on the same theme interpreted by totally different authors who nevertheless both get it. match made in heaven, fëanorian au of the year
(2) like, on a human level, i get wanting maedhros’ ragtag band of refugees to settle in númenor, but on the other hand i have the mental image of academic papers three thousand years later/one fourth wall up on The Cult of Maedhros Prometheus’ Son in Western Anatolia. because of course that’s what they’d do; that’s how their societies conceptualise power, their gods aren’t so much totally beyond humanity as a super-amped-up version of people, boy’s getting regular goat sacrifices before the century is out. does his cult wither in obscurity, or spread across the region? what stories do they tell about him, and how do those change over the millennia? who does he get syncretised with? how does hesiod fit him into the theogony????
(3) and on the other side of the interdimensional portal, the idea of odysseus interacting with maglor… really, really tickles me. late-game, bitter, sarcastic bastard mags, who on top of all his canon self’s issues is now stressed to hell and back because his older brother’s absence has left him in a place he never wanted be again - in charge. the banter would be legendary, and of the sort where you can never quite be sure someone’s not about to draw a knife
and i think, if anyone (on this side of the sundering seas, anyway) has a chance of figuring out what actually happened, it’s maglor? he’s a legendary bard in a world made of music, he’s… familiar enough with the structure of things to work it out for himself. he spends a frankly unsettling amount of time just staring at odysseus, going from humming random notes as if trying to get a fix on a melody to chanting nonsense syllables under his breath in perfect dactylic hexameter, tapping the ground with the tip of his scabbard to the beat
4) [SCENE: some unremarkable cove near (but not too near) the mouths of sirion, currently playing host to a boat that, while obviously of falathrim design, has some rather unusual iconography and a name in a language no one can read)
random human sailor odysseus cajoled into helping him try to get to valinor: i don’t get it, why’d the boss tell us to ready the ship in the usual place before he even gets back
another random human sailor, ditto: let’s hope whatever he’s plotting doesn’t - wait, do you hear that
odysseus: :suddenly bursts through the treeline, riding a very large horse that’s only partially under his control, a faintly glowing ball of cloth stashed under one arm:
odysseus: :dismounts with the air of a man who knows he’ll get kicked in the face if he pushes his luck any further: we have to cast off RIGHT NOW
random human sailor #3: boss what kind of túrin turambar-level nonsense -
odysseus :already leaping onboard: no time to explain move MOVE
sounds of pounding hooves, clattering metal, and absolutely furious quenya: :echo through the forest:
odysseus’ boat: :is already being shoved far beyond the horizon by a very convenient storm by the time the fëanorians reach the shore:
(odysseus later successfully bullshits maedhros that he’s been loaned the silmaril for the express purpose of getting the aid of the valar long enough to jump through the portal to ithaca and seal it shut behind him)
Maedhros in Troy AU: Outcome
Okay, so with the Maedhros in Troy AU, I have spent way more time on Maedhros than Odysseus.
BUT.
I think Odysseus might be the key to how this whole situation gets resolved.
Consider:
Odysseus finds Elured and Elurin and tries to find a way out of the woods. In the process, he comes across some of the other refugees from Doriath, who are very relieved to see their princes and very grateful to the man who rescued them. For lack of better ideas, Odysseus stays with them.
(He doesn't recognize these stars. How is he supposed to get home if he can't even recognize the stars - )
The refugees head to Sirion. Eventually, they manage to get past the language barrier well enough to communicate.
None of the elves know where Ithaca is, sorry, or how he might have gotten here, they don't know anyone who would know - except the Valar, of course, ha-ha -
The who? Odysseus asks, very interested.
Oh, well, the Valar, these superpowered not quite all knowing beings who live across the ocean -
That ocean? he asks, pointing, just to be sure.
(This is the man who saw Aeolus's island and decided he was going to climb it. Who was told to go to the Underworld and didn't hesitate. He is absolutely going to try to sail west.)
This is a bad idea, the elves say hastily. Everyone who has tried to sail west has been forced to turn back or die.
Odysseus tries anyway.
He is forced to turn back.
He keeps trying.
In between attempts, he picks up some knowledge of the Silmaril. He doesn't care about it particularly; he just can't avoid picking up on some things about it.
Like the fact the Valar, at least at one time, badly wanted it.
Odysseus steals the Silmaril and makes another attempt.
The Valar have so many questions for him when he shows up.
He does get back to Ithaca, though.
In less than twenty years.
(The Valar, in fixing this situation, also get Maedhros back. There are many awkward things about this situation; the Valar have the Silmaril but don't really consider themselves to rightfully hold it given how Odysseus got it in the first place; Maedhros is an exile who is not supposed to be in Valinor and who does not want to be here, and now they have to decide what to do about that - )
(It does not help the awkwardness that Maedhros, who has had to deal with Zeus's tantrums over his refusal to kill a baby, Aphrodite's tantrums for reasons he's not sure he wants to understand, Athena's demands to know where Odyssues is, Hephaestus and Ares being what they thought was helpful, Apollo's curse on Cassandra, and everyone's general surprise when he didn't think human sacrifice was the best solution for placating the storms - )
(Maedhros looks at the Valar thoughtfully and decides that, for all his problems with the Valar, he respects the fact that they are not the Olympians.)
(The Valar are deeply concerned with what they hear about the Olympians.)
(This may influence their decision that while the Trojans can't stay here-here in Aman, they can stay in Middle Earth.)
(Maybe with the Edain on that island they were thinking of raising . . .)

♱ ࣪˖ date night — chris sturniolo
Tumblr media
. . . you're caught up in a terrible date, and a rescue from chris turns into something more than just a friendly favor.
˖ warnings. smut (fingering, no actual p in v, implied sex), confessing feelings kinda(?)
˖ soph's note. first one shot, and whoever requested this im so sorry it took forever 😭
Tumblr media
the restaurant was a cozy italian place, tucked in a quiet corner of the city. candlelit tables, soft music playing in the background, and a warm basket of breadsticks in front of you—it was exactly what came to your mind when you thought of a perfect date. tonight was anything but that. it would’ve been perfect, if only the person sitting across from you wasn’t so insufferable. you felt like you were being held hostage, forced to listen to him talk about himself and nothing else. your friend was a horrible match maker.
within five minutes of sitting down, he’d managed to interrupt you twice. you sat across from him, trying to force a polite smile as he launched into yet another story about himself. here we go again….
“oh, and i’m super into traveling,” he continued, leaning back in his chair with a smug grin. “but only first-class, you know? i work too hard to settle for anything less.” how had we even gotten to the topic of traveling?
“oh…” you nod absentmindedly. gosh, this guy was a jerk. you glanced around the restaurant as he spoke, hoping the waiter would interrupt with the check.
he obviously didn’t notice your lack of enthusiasm as he dove into yet another story, leaning forward in his chair enthusiastically. how many stories was this guy pulling out of his ass? you fought the urge to roll your eyes. you’d been here for over an hour and he’s barely asked you a single question all night.
“anyway,” he said, waving a hand, “enough about me. what do you think about my watch?”
you blinked, staring at the obnoxiously large gold watch on his wrist. “it’s… nice?”
“right?” he grinned, clearly fishing for compliments. “cost me a fortune, but hey, i deserve it. gotta treat yourself, right?”
you tried to stay optimistic, but as the evening dragged on, you could feel yourself mentally checking out. when he started boasting about how many instagram followers he had, you knew you were done. you needed an escape.
forcing another smile, you reached for your phone under the table, sending a text to chris, hoping he could save you from this nightmare of a date. you: can u please pick me up? this date is a total disaster
you press send, fingers anxiously tapping on the table as you await chris’ response, the man in front of you too caught up in his life story to notice your anxious glances around the restaurant. finally, your phone buzzed.
chris: wya?
you sent him the address, feeling a rush of relief knowing you were gonna be out of here soon. there was so much precious time wasted on this stupid date, and you mentally cursed yourself for even giving this guy a chance.
ten minutes later, you spotted chris’ car through the window. you began to speak, cutting the guy off mid-sentence as you stood abruptly, grabbing your purse. “im really sorry, i’ve got to go,”
“what? why?” he looked genuinely confused, furrowing his brows as he saw you getting ready to leave so sudden.
“something came up,” you lied, giving him a sympathetic look, already heading for the door before he could say another word. chris was leaning against his car, arms crossed, his expression one of amusement as you both got in the car.
“rough night?” he asked as you approached.
“you have no idea,” you groaned, slipping into the passenger seat. chris climbed in after you, pulling away from the curb. almost immediately, you launched into a rant, frustration bubbling over as you spoke about everything that went wrong. chris listened, feeding into your frustration as he let out a sarcastic remark every now and then.
eventually, your complaints died down, and with nowhere else to head, chris pulled into an vacant parking lot as the car was engulfed with a comfortable silence.
“thanks for coming to get me,” you say, glancing over at him. “i couldn’t handle another second there. he was driving me insane.”
chris chuckled, his fingers drumming lightly on the steering wheel. “‘s no big deal, really.”
you give him a soft smile, glancing around the empty parking lot. the only light came from the dim glow of a nearby streetlamp. for a moment, neither of you spoke. you shifted in your seat, looking over to chris as his fingers stilled against the wheel. you couldn’t help but notice the way the light hit his face, accentuating his cheekbones and jawline. you stared for a second longer before your voice broke the silence.
“but seriously,” you begin, “you’re always there for me. i really appreciate that, chris.”
chris turns to you fully, his expression softening at your words. “of course,” he says, his voice quiet, “i’ll always be there for you. ‘s cause i care about you. you know that, right?” he looks over at you, and the sincerity in his voice made your chest tighten.
“i know,” you nod, looking away from his gaze, “i care about you, too.” you feel a rush of heat rise up to your cheeks as you speak. why were you getting so flustered?
something shifted in his expression as you said that, his playful demeanor no where to be found as your eyes met his again. “you’re not just saying that?” he asked, leaning in slightly, his hand resting on the steering wheel.
“no,” you murmured, the word catching in your throat. you watch as his gaze dropped to your lips for a split second before darting back up to your eyes, and you found your pulse beginning to quicken.
“okay, cause i mean it. i care do about you—a lot." his voice lingered on the last word, and the way he said it made you feel a way you couldn’t quite explain.
you swallowed hard, unsure of what to say. his eyes were locked on yours, and you felt unable to look away. it felt like he could see straight through you, past all your nervousness and hesitation, and straight to the way your heart was pounding.
“chris…" you started, but his name barely left your lips as he leaned in, his hand slipped from the wheel. you felt his fingertips brush lightly against your arm, sending a shiver down your spine.
"tell me to stop," he murmured, his voice low and his breath warm against your cheek. his eyes flickered to your lips again, lingering this time. but you didn’t tell him to stop.
his lips met yours, tentative at first, like he wanted to make sure this was real. but when you responded, your hand moving to cup the side of his face, his hesitation disappeared. the kiss deepened, and you soon felt yourself being pulled onto his lap, now straddling him. warmth flooded through you as he gripped your waist, fingers digging into your hips. you felt the kiss becoming needier, his hands moving to pull you closer, deepening the kiss. your hands find their way to his hair, softly tugging at the strands as he lets out a quiet groan into your mouth. his hands moved to your thighs, rubbing up and down before they slipped under your jean skirt to tease around the soft lace of your underwear. chris pulls away, beginning to pepper kisses down your jawline and to your neck as his fingers inched closer to your clothed core.
his middle finger delicately brushed over your cunt, feeling the wetness seep through your panties as you let out a gasp, your hold on him tightening.
“you want me to stop?” he murmurs into your neck, beginning to add more pressure with his fingers. you quickly shake your head, mumbling out a desperate ‘no’ before you feel him slip two of his fingers into your panties, groaning at the feeling of your wetness. you let out a moan as he teases your entrance, slipping his two fingers inside you effortlessly.
“fuck,” you breathe out, and chris begins to pump his fingers into and out of you, curling his fingers as he elicits another moan from you, your grip on his hair tightening.
chris leaves hot and opened mouth kisses on your neck—the pace of his fingers quickening. he continued to bite and suck at your neck in response to your whimpers, his free hand coming up to squeeze at your tits as you bucked your hips into his hand, the knot in your stomach threatening to snap.
“i’m gonna cum, chris,” you whine, your head falling against his shoulder before you felt him remove his fingers, bringing them to his mouth as he tasted your arousal, leaving you whiney and needy for more.
chris patted your hip, urging you to get up as he spoke, “backseat, now.”

dibs
“Jinx!” Again, they say this at the same time. They both groan, and without any other words, they jump into an intense game of rock, paper, scissors.  “One, two, three!” Steve holds out a rock, Robin does as well, and the two teens almost strangle one another.  They try again, this time they both land on paper, and Robin throws her head back in frustration. “I’m not good at math, but this cannot be statistically possible.”
Summary: do the laws of dibs still apply if steve and robin see you at the same time ???
Rating: general, some swearing
Warnings: swearing, fem!reader, use of y/n
Words: 1.4k
Before you swing in: this is for my beloved val (@southelroy), and i was so excited to try my hand at writing robin and steve together <3 this is a very silly fic, not at all meant to be realistic or serious, and it isnt proofread so pls enjoy n beware !
-
According to the ancient rules of “dibs”, the first person who sees the desired one has the rightful claim of dibs. Anyone else present during this time must obey this sacred rule, respecting the fact that the other has laid claim first. It’s an old, ancient tradition, held up for centuries through faithful friendships.
It’s a solid system, really.
Except Steve and Robin see you walk into Family Video on the same day, at the same time, together.
You walk in, hair slightly wet from the rain and your eyes bright, and smile at the two of them shyly. Setting down your umbrella, you unbutton your raincoat and look around the store. “Sorry, is it okay if I hide out in here for a bit? My umbrella broke and I really don’t feel like catching a cold.”
Steve and Robin stare at you, wide eyed and in shock. They’ve never seen you before, they surely would’ve remembered your face if they had, and their brains short circuit simultaneously.
When they don’t say anything, you cautiously walk up to the counter and laugh nervously. “Uh, hello? I can leave, if that’s what you’re trying to say.”
“No!” Steve shouts, panicked that the word “leave” has left your very pretty and pink mouth. When you flinch at his raised voice, he quickly clears his throat and lowers his voice. “I–uh, I mean… No, no. You can stay–please! I mean, if you don’t mind, ‘cause, ya know, it’s raining–”
“What my coworker here is trying to say is that you can definitely stay.” Robin interrupts, admiring the way the raindrops in your hair seem to form a halo. “In fact, why don’t you have a look around? We have plenty of movies.”
You smile at Robin, which she practically melts seeing. “Thanks, you guys are lifesavers. I’m here visiting my cousin, and he said I should stop by anyways.”
“What, do we know him?” Steve asks, finally finding his voice again.
“His name is Dustin Henderson, if that helps. He’s a freshman at Hawkins, said he stops here sometimes–”
“Dustin Henderson is your cousin?” Steve and Robin say at the same time, completely taken aback.
You laugh. “Ya know, I’ve gotten that a lot since being in Hawkins. I take it he’s well known?”
“Oh, he’s definitely well known.” Robin snorts, thinking about how many people would scream at the idea of more Hendersons running around the world.
But if they’re anything like you, then Robin thinks she’d love to be invited to a Henderson family reunion. Immediately.
“Well,” you smile again at the two teens, amused by their weird dynamic. You can see why Dustin likes them so much. “Since I’m stuck here for a while and I promised Dustin I’d get a movie, I’m gonna take a look around as suggested.”
You pause, now realizing you haven’t asked for their names, and you gasp. “I’m so sorry! What are your names? I feel horrible for not even asking.”
“You could never do any wrong,” Steve sighs dreamily, leaning against the counter in what he hopes is a cool looking pose. “I’m Steve, Steve Harrington.”
He sticks his hand out for you to shake, which you accept with a slight giggle. He’s odd, but incredibly endearing even if he’s currently standing against the counter like a middle-aged man. “I’m Y/N Henderson.”
Robin, sensing what Steve is trying to do, hip checks the boy so that he falls onto the ground. “And I’m Robin Buckley, the better half of this duo.”
Like hell she’s going to allow him to flirt with you.
Her declaration makes you laugh, even as poor Steve groans on the floor in pain. You wink at her, amused by her charm, and start to walk towards the movie aisles. “Oh, I believe that.”
Steve scrambles back up, and the second you’re out of earshot, he and Robin immediately shout at the same time, “Dibs!”
“Okay, let’s think about this.” Steve holds a finger up to indicate that he’s speaking, which Robin scoffs at. “I saw her first, so–”
“Uh, news flash, dingus: I saw her first.”
“Were you dropped as a child? I clearly saw her first–”
“Actually,” your voice causes both Robin and Steve to turn in horror, realizing too late that you’ve been standing behind them, listening in. “You both saw me at the same time, so I’m not sure how the rule of dibs applies here.”
“We…” Steve gapes at you, speechless.
Robin is no better, her face burns horribly. “We think… You’re pretty?”
“Well, I gathered that much.” You laugh again, and the sound is enough for both Steve and Robin to forget all their worries and admire how delicate it is. Then, holding up two dvd’s, you place them on the counter. “I’ll take these, please.”
Robin looks down at your movie selection, seeing The Breakfast Club and The Outsiders, and her heart drops. “Just… Just these?”
“Mhm,” you nod, unsure why her demeanor has suddenly changed. “Is there something wrong with my movie selection?”
Steve looks at Robin and he knows immediately what’s wrong. She absolutely hates your taste in movies, which he’s ecstatic over. He lets out a whoop and first bumps the air. “Yes! She’s mine!”
“Shut up, you moron!” Robin screeches, embarrassed and infuriated. She cannot believe that this is happening to her right now, in front of a very pretty girl, no less. Closing her eyes, Robin takes a deep breath and turns to you. “Please excuse my friend, he’s allergic to pretty girls.”
“Hey, that’s not true–”
You cross your arms at Robin, an amused smile on your face. “What’s so wrong with my taste in movies?”
“Nothing!” When you raise your eyebrow at her, Robin accepts her fate and gives in. She knows she’s done for now. “It’s just… It’s incredibly bland.”
“I happen to think your taste is impeccable, Y/N.” Steve butts in, batting his eyelashes at you for added effect.
Robin watches, with pure disgust, as it works. Steve’s charm gets you to laugh once more, and you even lean closer to his side of the counter. You place a hand on his arm. “I’m honored to have you on my side, then.”
Stupid Harrington and his stupid male species.
While you and Steve exchange gross lovey-dovey glances, Robin rings up your movie rentals with disdain.
“That will be $5.25, please.” She mumbles, crestfallen.
You tear your eyes away from Steve’s and notice the jealousy and hurt on Robin’s face. You frown, feeling bad for being the cause of this. She seems like a sweet girl, and Dustin spoke highly of her, so you know she’s someone special. Taking some cash out of your purse, you hand it to Robin and catch her eye.
“Hey, listen to me real quick.” Robin looks up, despite not wanting to, but your eyes are too pretty not to look into. When you have her attention, you turn to Steve. “Can you give us a second?”
He looks bewildered. “What? Why?”
“If you leave now, I’ll give you my number.”
“Yes ma’am!” Steve hops over the counter and goes to sort some movies, leaving you alone with Robin.
Once he’s gone, you lean in close to her. “I understand what you’re going through.”
Her eyes widen, terrified she’s been caught. “W–what? No, I think you’ve gotten this all wrong–”
“It’s okay,” you grab her hand, gently take it between yours. “We’re more alike than you may think, and while I’m flattered, you’re too young.”
Robin knows she should be devastated by this, but all she hears is, “So… Let’s say ten years from now, if you happen to visit Dustin again…”
You laugh, she’s got such a spark to her. “You’ll have to figure out the whole ‘dibs’ thing by then with Steve.”
“I saw you first!” Steve shouts from somewhere in the aisles, before a giant crash follows. A few seconds pass, and then, much quieter this time, he shouts, “I’m fine!”

hiiii I really love your autistic!reader fics :] I was wondering if you could please do one where r just has an absolutely horrible sensory day, nothing bad happens but just they didn’t sleep and woke up super overstimulated and still had to go through a busy day to the point where they go nonverbal, have a meltdown and need to lock themself away in their room in the dark/quiet for like a day. and then once they feel better and come over, remus (or dealer!remus my beloved) talks about it and comforts them <3 this is super specific lol it just happened to me and my roommates did not notice or care so I’d love to hear what you think remus would do <333
I love all your fics so so dearly thank you for being you and for all your hard work !!!!
I’m sorry they didn’t care! Sending you this Remus fic to make up for it
You’re not sure when this ‘off’ feeling had settled into your body, but now that it has it seems impossible to shake.
You’d woken up and just knew that something was wrong. Something intrinsic to you was off and possibly twisted up and tangled in ways that made it difficult for you to articulate what it was.
Your phone’s alarm was too loud, you could feel the sheets scratching your thighs and you couldn’t take a breath deeper than four seconds long if you tried.
Then you’d gotten into work and gotten even more overstimulated so by the end of your day you’d felt this building nausea swirling all up your throat from your stomach.
You can also feel a migraine coming on and it worsens the nausea.
You might be sick on the train ride home. You were in fact sick on the train ride home- thank god you keep a spare shirt in your bag.
When you got in, Remus wasn’t there- probably still at the dispensary. Which as bad as it sounds was the best option.
You smell like sick, you’re cold sweating, and you can’t stop your tears from falling down your face.
It’s horrible. You feel like you’ve been run over and like your body is fighting you with every step you take.
You’re grateful Remus doesn’t see you like this.
Your shower is hot, to the point of steam curling around you but you didn’t feel a thing.
You’re hardly awake for more than ten minutes, slipping into a pair of underwear and getting under your heavy covers and falling asleep.
“Dovey, hi.” You wake up to Remus stroking your back, his nails blunt and fingers warm as they trail up and down your back.
You shake his hand off, your head throbbing as you turn to look at him.
The nap didn’t help the migraine.
Remus takes a moment to look at your face, eyes assessing as he stares. “Was it a quiet kind of day?” You squeeze his hand and Remus coos.
He lowers his tone, voice smooth and soft like velvet. “I put your clothes in the wash, and I can get you your notepad.”
You shake your head, sitting up a bit and opening your arms to Remus. Your arms drop when you spot his sweater - maybe he’s just come in from work.
He understands immediately, “I’ve showered already, so I’m not in outside clothes.” He assures you before his arms close around you.
Remus is warm in a way you don’t understand. His body constantly furnace-like, and it helps to ground you.
“I had a bad day.” You croak, throat tight as you speak.
“You don’t have to force yourself, dove.”
You shake your head, “I want to tell you,” Remus nods, kissing your neck as you steady yourself. “I woke up feeling really bad, like I couldn’t get anything my body had to do right but I went into work anyway thinking it’d just go away. It didn’t. Then I threw up on the train home and cried and then threw up again, and then came home, showered and slept.”
Remus coos, “I’m sorry today was so awful, sweet girl. Will you be able to take tomorrow off? I’m home all day and we could make a ‘recovery from overstimulation,’ day of it.”
You could cry. You’ve the sweetest boyfriend and you’re pretty sure he doesn’t realize.
“Are you sure?” You gnaw on your lip as Remus pulls back, a tender smile on his face.
“Perks of being your own boss, baby. I set the days. Want me to call your boss?”
You nod, “Please? And we can watch a movie when you’re done?” You’re already shuffling down under the covers as Remus reaches for your phone.
“Course dovey, put on Atlantis and I’ll go get some water and salted crackers.”
As bad as your day had started, it feels lighter now that Remus is here.

The Airhead Chronicles
…and the surprise
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: cassian x bimbo reader, inner circle x reader, nesta
summary: Not being able to avoid his family anymore, cassian brings you to meet them, despite the new bond. You all get along great and someone particular catches your eye👀 does the night end as amazingly as it began, though?
warnings: tragic backstory, reader’s mysterious aura is finally explained, i’m so sorry but i’ll have to villainize Nesta in this but I love her and will make a fluff fic with her soon
amara’s note: i’m sorry this took a while, life was kinda hectic but it’s all good now. This is quite a short bc i’m trying to build up some angst…
part one part two part three
Tumblr media
“Wha- Rhysie? What are you doing here?” Confusion washed over you as Rhys appeared, equally bewildered.
“This is mine and Feyre’s home, we live here, y/n. What brings you here?”
Your puzzled expression deepened. This wasn't adding up. You were supposed to meet Cassian's friends. Maybe you'd gotten the wrong house.
“I’m visiting my mate's friends. Look, I even baked a cake! Doesn’t it look so tasty?” You held up the cake as you flashed him your usual smile as he nodded absentmindedly.
“You two know each other?” Cassian's raised eyebrows reflected his confusion.
“Cassie, this is Rhys. He’s the friend I’ve been telling you about. You know, the one that helped me move and who I work for.” You introduced Cassian to Rhysand, unaware they'd been friends for half a millennium.
“Y/n, why don't you come inside? Feyre and Nyx are here too. I know they’d be thrilled to meet you,” Rhysand suggested, maintaining eye contact with Cassian, whose expression remained unreadable.
“Oh, I wish we could stay, but we have to like go. Gonna meet my handsome man’s friends, and just between us, they’re like super important people, so I need to prepare myself. But you might now them since you’re high lord.” You leaned in, whispering lowly.
Cassian squeezed your hands reassuringly. “It’s okay, sweetheart. Go ahead and say hi, I’ll just talk to Rhys for a second.”
With a smile, you kissed his cheek and skipped inside to greet with your dear friend Feyre and favorite little guy, Nyx.
Cassians pov:
“You want to tell me how the hell you know her?” Cassian struggled to process the revelation. The idea of you and Rhys already knowing each other left him in disbelief. He couldn't fathom how he was being vexed by your super amazing friend, only to find out he was Cassian's friend too.
“Listen, I didn’t know you were mated or anything. I’ve known her since we were faelings.” Rhysand raised his hands, signaling that he harbored no ill intentions towards you and hadn't done anything wrong.
Cassian backed away, hands on his hips, strolling to the drink cabinet. He grabbed two cups, plopping down on the sofa and ruffling his wings in a mix of frustration and contemplation.
“Rhysie, I’m not going to eat you up, unless you want me to. Come sit down and just talk to me.” Cassian huffed, a hint of amusement in his expression as he noticed Rhysand practically glued behind his desk. With a roll of his eyes, Rhys rounded the table and settled down next to his friend.
They sat in silence, downing their third glass of Rhysand's expensive scotch. A nod from Rhys indicated he was ready to explain everything, and he met Cassian's gaze as he began.
“Alright, so when me and my sister were younger, my father made us switch from our private education in Velaris to Hewn City. The bastard claimed he wanted us to toughen up a bit. It was pure evil if you ask me.” A disgusted expression crossed Rhys's face as he recalled the horrors the new educators put him and his sister through in an attempt to toughen them up. The treatment was truly horrible for all the children there.
“There, I met Y/n and her sisters. They were downright horrendous towards her, and so were her parents because she wasn’t learning as quickly as us. She was also highly sought after due to her beauty and kindness, something her sisters envied. Her father is the Master of Coin, so they're loaded, and they had us do classes together. All the masters' children had classes together, separate from the other children of the city, to showcase how higher educated we were, in my father’s words.”
Rhys sighed, taking a sip of his drink before continuing, “Me and Selene befriended her, and you should’ve seen how jealous her sisters were. As heir, I had a lot of ladies interested in my title, and her sisters were among them. So they spread lies, telling everyone how I was bedding her as mere teenagers when, in reality, I was teaching her the work our educator couldn’t be bothered to teach her. After the rumors spread, her parents pulled her out of school to stay at home and learn her place in the court—how to talk to suitors, how to dress and act in front others with higher titles. She was raised like some sort of prized horse, ready to be sold. It was disgusting, the number of times her parents tried to marry her off for the sake of a title. Every time they tried, I intervened.” He smirked at the memory of your parents angry faces as the high lords son interrupted yet another proposal.
Cassian was shocked, slowly taking in the information as he nuged Rhys to continue.
“So, what happened when you became high lord? Did she stay in the city or did she move?”
“After I became High Lord, I finally banned forced marriages and made it punishable. Her parents suddenly found no need for her, so they told her that she either found someone appropriate herself and convinced me it was love, or they would’ve gotten rid of her.”
Cassian's jaw tightened, his fist instinctively knuckling up. He was seriously one second away from flying there and taking matters into his own hands.
“So I told her parents that she was marrying a well-off lord in the Day Court and that she’d be well taken care of, not that they really cared.”
“And, before you jump to conclusions, yes, I did ask her if I should take care of them for her, but she's not keen on the idea. She's way more merciful than I am. Y/n actually asked me to keep my father as the Master of Coin and, believe it or not, she told me not to kill them. According to her, it's better to let them live and witness her thriving one day. Quite the plot twist, no?” Rhysand smiled at your words, thankful that he had a friend to help him survive back in the city.
His smile faded as he remembered the 49 years he spent away from his family friends and city.
“I got her a house in Aetherian Crest, and she has lived there ever since, even during Amarantha’s reign. The only ones who know she exists are Feyre and, well, Nyx too, but he isn’t old enough to understand that.”
A shared laugh echoed through the room at the mention of Nyx, the thought of the little one adding a touch of warmth to the heavy conversation.
Cassian, still perplexed, glanced between Rhysand and the glass in his hand. He couldn't quite grasp what you worked on and the role you played in his life.
“She says to work for you. What exactly does she do, and why did you have her swear to secrecy with that bargain tattoo?” Cassian's irritation grew as he contemplated the idea of you engaging in something so dangerous that it required an irreversible oath.
Rhysand took a deep breath, sensing Cassian's increasing irritation.
“Y/n handles delicate matters, specializing in extracting information from people. Her bubbly personality and openness make it easy for others to confide in her. Y/n oversees a team, playing a crucial role in our court. She chooses to stay hidden because she doesn’t want the weight of our responsibilities. The intel she gathers is extremely essential; I pass it on to Azriel, who acts based on her information. You know those thrilling missions you love so much? Many are based on her information. She is absolutely irreplaceable and knows everything about every court. I made her swear the same oath that you all have sworn for the protection of Velaris.”
Cassian was stunned, yet it all made perfect sense. It dawned on him that he had shared his childhood and spilled secrets to you in just a few weeks. It had taken him centuries to truly open up to the inner circle, and here you were, extracting information within a matter of days. You were so smooth; he hadn't even noticed it happening. Your ability to weave into his life seamlessly left him both amazed and, oddly, more enamored with you.
It would be insulting to express surprise. Cassian had a hunch that you were doing something extraordinary; he just didn't know the specifics. Now that he had the full picture, he felt an overwhelming sense of pride and admiration, realizing that you were even more remarkable than he had initially thought, if that was even possible.
“What? You thought we only had boring study sessions together? Me and Selene taught her how to spy, just the basics of listening for information; the rest is all her.” Rhysand snorted, raising an amused brow at Cassian while taking a sip of his drink.
Cassian sat back, absorbing the revelation. A mix of awe and admiration colored his expression.
“Damn,” he breathed, his eyes fixed on Rhysand. “I didn't know all this about her. Rhys, I'm proud of her. More than I thought possible. Fuck, I’m falling even harder for her, if that's even possible.”
Rhysand chuckled at Cassian's reaction and clapped him on the shoulder. “Congratulations on the bond, brother. You'll find you fall for her in ways you never imagined. It's normal when you're bonded, trust me. The other day, Feyre showed me a new move she had practiced and I fell even harder.”
With a shared laugh, Rhysand and Cassian returned to the gathering, joining you and the others for dinner. The weight of revelations lingered but was set aside for the warmth of camaraderie, good company, and a meal shared among friends.
As he explained that the friends you had come to see were Rhysand and the rest of the Inner Circle, a blush crept onto your cheeks. The realization hit you – you had interacted with them so casually, forgetting for a moment that they were the most significant figures in the Night Court. But they were so nice to you, so did it really matter that you talked about ideal sex positions with the girls?
Seated at the dinner table, everyone enjoyed the meal together. You found yourself leaning into Cassian, the atmosphere around the table filled with laughter, shared stories, and the comforting feeling of being among friends.
Azriel had been sneaking glances at you, not really making much conversation, but occasionally cracked a dry joke or expressed his opinion on topics when asked. He found you interesting, not anything scandalous, he just knew there was more to you, his spymaster instincts picking up a mysterious vibe from you.
Amren just looked at you from head to to, nodding with a tiny movement, one you almost missed, and kept to herself the entire dinner, disappearing the second the food was gone.
Elain had been the most welcoming and openly discussed similar interests with you. She seemed to bond with you the most, appreciating your shared interests. You found her adorable and had complimented everything from her dress and hair to the flowers she planted on the table.
Later, in the sitting room, you and Cassian settled on the sofa, and Elain sat across the room. Eager to chat with her, you sauntered over, sitting extremely close.
Leaning in, you began, “Elain, I find you really, really cute. You remind me of a deer; I love them, they’re so adorable. And i heard tou killed the king of hybern. You’re soo brave!! ” Your words hung in the air, creating a bit of a nervous atmosphere, but Elain let out a small giggle at the proximity and the compliment.
“Ohh, thanks. You’re very pretty too. I like the bows in your hair. And it was nothing really, just protected my sisters.”
Your eyes widened at her cute stutter and the way she squirmed. Gods, she was sooo cute you thought you were gonna die!! You so desperately wanted to be friends with her.
You smiled at her one last time, leaving her with a pounding heart and a nervous smile. You skipped happily back to Cassian who looked mighty amused, ready to enjoy the rest of the evening with his mate.
Later during the evening, your arms wrapped around his massive bicep. Leaning your head on it, the warmth of the meal making you sleepy, you scooted closer to Cassian, placing both of your legs on one of his thighs as you rested on his arm.
In that moment, safety, warmth, and reassurance radiates from your mate.
“Cassie, I wanna sleep. M'soooo tired,” you mumbled against his warm skin. His rich laughter rumbled through his body, making you smile like a fool.
Holy fuck, you were so in love with him.
“It’s okay, baby. Do you want me to fly us back to your home or do you want to sleep in my old room?”
You perked up at the thought of seeing his old bedroom, filled with everything that defined him.
“Yes, please! Your old bedroom sounds super cool. Can't wait to see it. And, you know, maybe I could blow you or something?” you said, mundane, as if you were discussing the weather or the latest book you read
Honestly, like, who even cares if anyone hears you talking? It's totally okay to wanna please your mate, right? Ugh, people and their silly fucking rules, it was driving you crazy. If you wanna announce to the world that Cassian fucks you like there’s no tomorrow, then you totally should, no questions asked!
Giggles and laughs filled the room at your crude comment, everyone a bit tipsy after several bottles of wine were shared between you.
Cassian's strong and sturdy body carried you on his back as he gave you a piggyback ride through the house, providing a private tour before reaching his designated room in Rhysand's massive estate.
With your boobs pressed softly against his back, you tightened your arms around him, excitedly expressing your dirty wishes for what you wanted to do together.
His arousal was evident as his pants tightened around his cock.
His heart craved to cherish you eternally, eager to bring you joy in every way possible. In this short time, Cassian found himself wholeheartedly falling for you. Filled with a urgency, he yearned to share just how much you meant to him and the extraordinary lengths he'd go, wrapped in those three words and eight letters.
But life wasn’t a fairytale, especially his.
His body froze in shock as he swung open the door, completely taken aback by the unexpected sight of his old lover standing in the middle of his room. Her hands fidgeted nervously before a palpable wave of hatred emanated from her eyes as she shifted her gaze towards you, intensifying the unexpected and shocking nature of her visit.
You, still on top if Cassian, missed the tension in the air as he locked eyes with his old lover. The atmosphere crackled with unresolved emotions.
Cassian, with you still on his back, shifted uncomfortably, trying to gauge the situation.
He took a deep breath, attempting to regain control of the unexpected encounter. “Nesta,” he said her name with a forced calmness that couldn't hide the turmoil beneath the surface. “What are you doing here?”
Nesta's lips curled into a bitter smile, and her gaze never wavered. “I heard you found someone new. Thought I'd see what kind of female you thought could replace me.”
Your heart raced, realizing the depth of the history between them. The room felt charged with a mixture of tension and heartache.
“Cassie, who is she?”
You hopped down, stepping back, a rush of emotions hitting you as you witnessed a scene too familiar. Many before had desired to take you to bed but had never chosen commitment, leaving you with a lingering sense of being used and discarded.
In that moment, you couldn't help but feel the weight of past disappointments. Praying to every god, you desperately hoped this wasn't another painful chapter repeating itself.
Cassian wouldn’t do that to you. He wouldn’t fuck you and toss you aside for a past flame, right?
You were utterly convinced that he couldn’t change that quickly.
So why did doubt and fear take root in you?
And why did his hand tense and curl in when you tried to touch it?

IN WHICH — dallas has been obsessed with you for months.
⚠️ : uh , smut.. again… and i guess this is similar to the one i posted the other day? but like , this was an ask thrown out to the dallas x reader tag so i’m gonna try to give it justice.

Tumblr media
you silently walk down the dark street , and the only possible light is from the moon and the streetlights. And honestly? you’re stupid. well , not really , but you’re walking alone as a greaser. and that’s the number one thing you shouldn’t do.
socs get so bored they would beat up even a girl , it doesn’t matter to them. meaning you’re no different.
it sucks , but you need to see dallas.
recently , your ex boyfriend has been giving you things you don’t even want. flowers , chocolate , anything you could name , he would have it at your doorstep or stashed into your locker. you don’t wanna talk about the amount of times you’ve gotten jealous stares from people around you. but there was nothing to be jealous about.
if you could get rid of him , you would. in a heartbeat. you just want to be left alone.
it’s him who cheated anyway ; he hooked up with another girl , sylvia , you think her name was? though you don’t really care for her. apparently , she was just like that.
you snapped yourself out of your deep thought when you saw a light flicker , and you being paranoid about being out here in the first place , started to pick up your pace.
eventually , you made it to the all familiar building , buck merrill’s place. while you recall dallas working here , whenever he isn’t getting himself into illegal activities , he’s crashing here , or responsibly ( like he promised ) , hanging out with you to keep your ex away at times.
a few weeks ago , you had asked dallas to fake date you so your ex could back off. it worked for the most part , but that didn’t stop your ex from giving you gifts and asking to ‘ just be friends ‘.
even though everyone knows where that goes.
you sigh as you walk up the steps , hand sliding across the rails as you take a deep breath before knocking on the door. you hope it’s heard with how the music is booming , enough to shake the house like you’re in a cartoon of some sort.
the door swings open , you notice it was a girl , but she paid no attention to you , quickly going back to dancing with her friends. you shyly step into the house and close the door behind you. trying your best to ignore the music and the smell of cigarettes in the air , you make your way to the only place dallas would be at this hour.
his room. either sleeping , or smoking.
you don’t knock first , or made any sort of sound to be let in , you just do it.
and of course , you were right. dallas was at his window smoking. the window was slightly open. his back was facing you until you opened the door.
“ hey dallas. “
“ hey. why’re you here? checkin’ up on me? you’re so kind. “ he teases and you roll your eyes.
“ actually , i’ve gotta complaint. “
dallas raises a brow , and makes a weird sound. “ mmh? do tell. “
you sigh and close the door , trying to ignore the way the house is shaking. the ashtray on the edge of the window is slightly shaking as the music downstairs booms. “ you are horrible at fake dating. “ you deadpan and he laughs.
“ sorry , but can i let you know that i’ve never done this before? usually if i’m with a girl , i’m with her. this is different. “
“ exactly my point , dallas. why not just treat me like you would treat your girlfriend? “
he blinks and stares at you blankly. “ well , you aren’t my girlfriend. that’s the thing , now listen , [name] — “
“ dude , fake dating is everything couples do just without the love. think of it like that , would you? “ you groan. it’s one of those nights he’s trying to be smart and make you look dumb.
“ i mean , “ he takes a drag from his cigarette. “ sure. i guess. you complain a whole lot about us not giving off an actual dating vibe. you like me or somethin’? “
you gag. he’s right , but he’s wrong. you would try dating him , but you honestly just wouldn’t be able to bring yourself to give it your all , and knowing dallas , he wouldn’t give anywhere close to anything.
“ no. ew , not in a million years you fucking — you fucking freak! “ you point at him with a scowl , and he smiles , putting his cigarette out and onto the ashtray , he walks over to his bed and kicks his shoes off.
“ mhm. got it. just for your ex. right. okay. “
you nod in agreement , and you begin to head for the door.
“ wait , where are you goin’? downstairs? i didn’t take you for the party type. “ he chuckled at his own joke , and the look on your face was just about the opposite.
“ i’m going home. “
“ at this hour? “
“ i walked here at this hour , for your information. “
“ dangerous girl. come on , lay down. “
“ like.. “ you turn around and point at him in disgust. “ with you? “ he nods and your face does nothing but twist more. “ no. that’s disgusting. id rather walk home. “
dallas sighs. “ you’re crazy , man. you want us to act like we’re dating , then you don’t. could you pick a side? “
“ there’s no one around so we don’t have to act dallas. please. use your head. “
“ alright , if you wanna walk home then go ahead. “ he urges you out , and you do exactly that. he looks pissed that you don’t wanna stay.
such an asshole.
the next day at school went rather smooth , you went to your same classes , annoyed the teachers , hung out with your friends at lunch , and made it to the end of the day.
“ i’ll see you tomorrow , right? “ your friend lorelai asks.
“ yup , i promise. love ya , bye! “ you wave frantically as she walks away , and another voice rings from behind you.
“ hey babe. “ an all too familiar voice speaks out. and you can already feel yourself getting irritated. “ don’t call me that , it’s over between us. cant you just — “
“ got somethin’ for you. “ he says , shoving flowers in your face and you fight the urge to sneeze , or yell. you close your eyes and with an irritated sigh , you push it away from your face. “ i don’t want your shit , please go away. “ you say as you turn and walk away from him. “ ah — wait! “ he calls out and you make an annoyed sound , with a groan , you keep walking.
“ i don’t wanna hear it , fuck off. i’m being nice. “ you roll your eyes as he stutters over his words.
“ your boyfriend is cheating on you. “
“ what? “
you don’t know what to say to that. dallas isn’t your boyfriend , but he’s covering for you. so stuff like this won’t happen.
“ what do you mean? “ you turn around and he sighs in relief when he has your attention.
“ at buck’s last night , i saw you walk in but was too out to say anything. after you left dallas was downstairs and had a girl pinned to the wall. the rest you should know. “
you ball your fist , and you don’t know who to be angry at.
you settle on both.
how could he be so damn reckless?
as soon as you get your ex off your trail , you storm to your house. you look at your calendar and you’re actually quite happy that it’s friday for once. you can sleep all day , maybe hang out with johnny and pony later , get into some trouble with them , or try your best to stay out of it.
though , a part of you just wants to rest for the whole weekend.
you know on monday your ex is going to spread the word , and then he’ll be hot back on your tail again. you wish he would just.. forget about you.
it’s totally not like he’s the one who said you guys should break up after he cheated on you. why doesn’t he go back to the girl he oh so loves more than you?
you get annoyed at the thoughts , and kick your feet on your bed , rambling on to yourself.
until those kicks and your voice came to a stop as you heard 8 knocks in a rhythm on your window.
it better not be dallas — too childish. two-bit , maybe?
you pray that it’s not dallas , or your ex. anyone but those two , fucking anyone.
instead of having to shoo said people away , you figure out it was johnny and ponyboy.
you smile.
“ hey , [name]. “ johnny says in that same voice he always uses. it’s soft , and you can barley hear it while you open the window. ponyboy shoves his hands in his pockets.
“ hey guys , what’s the matter? “ you ask , and johnny shakes his head while ponyboy speaks up.
“ nothin’. just wanted to tell you that we are going to the drive in and wanted to ask you to tag along. “
you hum in response , giving it deep thought. you figured ; you don’t have anything else to do anyway , so you’ll just go.
“ sure , when? “ you glance between the two boys.
“ well , we are just walking around right now , doing random things. if you wanna join that — “
“ don’t make it seem like we are doing bad things , ponyboy. just walkin’ around. “ johnny says scoldingly , and you stifle a laugh.
“ sure , i’ll tag along. just let me put something random on. give me a second! “ you answer and you disappear into your house as the boys wait outside of your window.
you decide on something random , baggy jeans , a shirt that fits nicely on you , and beaten up converse that johnny somehow got for you.
you fix your hair slightly , though nothing big has to be done to it because you had done it in the morning for school.
with that , you grab your wallet , and return to the window.
“ hold this , pony , “ you toss your wallet to him and slowly make your way out of the window. johnny gets close to make sure you don’t fall. you reach up behind you to close the window just slightly , you have to make sure you’re able to get back in without getting yelled at by your parents.
once your out and you fix your shirt , pony gives you your wallet back , and you guys begin to walk away from your house.
“ so where we headed? “ johnny asked seemingly the both of you.
“ i wanna see a fight. “ you say and ponyboy hesitated before nodding , johnny shrugs and agrees.
“ just gotta be out of there before the fuzz pull up. “ johnny says and you genuinely laugh.
you all indeed kept to your word , fights are easy to find around your parts , and it’s like a free movie before you even go to the drive in. in some fights , knives are pulled , guns that aren’t loaded yet scare everyone away , and some used objects nearby. you usually don’t stay for those fights incase it gets too bloody.
night begins to fall , and all three of you began to make your way over to the drive in.
“ you guys know what movie we are watching? “
“ nah man , most of the times i don’t even understand the movies we watch. “ johnny comments as he hops the gate , pony does it flawlessly , and you , lastly , slightly struggle to jump over the fence. they seemed to exchange a glance and stifle a laugh , but you try to pay no attention to it.
as you go to sit down , johnny and pony tell you to find seats and they’ll go and get popcorn , while you don’t want to alone , you shrug and do so anyways.
the movie seems to be some sort of beach movie , telling from the surfing and the screams of the girls. it’s trash , but it’s also the 60s. some said the 2000s are promised to be better. so you’ll go off of that.
you see four open seats in the near front. obviously , there’s only two of you , but the thought of two-bit coming along with the chance is high. so you take a seat in the middle. you sit down and take a view of everyone around you , you see some socs , but for the most part they seem to be behaving slightly well. so you turn from their direction. another group of people you see are greaser girls.
sylvia is one of them.
you scoff and hold your head in your palm , you were getting bored without johnny and pony. how long was the line? you had to have spent atleast 4 minutes looking for seats and sitting there.
“ hey , this seat taken? “
before you register the familiar voice , you speak up. “ uh — yeah , my friends are — “ you look up to the person when something just small clicks and tells you to look.
and you’re not very happy that you did.
“ dallas? “
“ the only one round here , thank you. “ he says , completely ignoring what you had said earlier and taking a seat next to you , wrapping an arm around your shoulder. “ thank god for that. “ you sigh and he seems to just get a little pissed off about it.
“ your ex is here , over there. “ he nods his head in the direction and you dare only look for a second. yup. that’s him. but you still aren’t very happy with what dallas did.
“ oh. “ you shift uncomfortably and slowly nudge his arm off , to which he puts it on again , and this time you actually push his arm away. “ move , please. “
“ what’s with ya? is it over me askin’ you to stay that night? c’mon. bring it in — “
“ get the hell off me , dallas. “
“ so that’s not the problem. what is it , then? “
you shrug and cross your arms. “ nothing. “
“ you actin’ like a bitch ain’t nothin.’ “
“ what did you just call me ? “
before dallas can respond , ponyboy and johnny arrive at the seats.
“ man , we were looking all over for you. “ ponyboy says and johnny heads to the seat on the other side of you.
“ hey dal. “ johnny speaks out and dallas puts up a hand. “ ey’ johnnycakes. “ dallas says as he stiffens up. dallas gives you a look , but you don’t share it , nor do you speak.
you don’t say anything at all for the whole movie.
when the movies are done and over with , bottles tossed onto the ground , and the laughing and crowds die down and leave , all four of you are left walking down the street.
“ you better hurry home , ponyboy , or darry won’t let you hear the end of it. “ johnny says , more than teasing , he seems serious.
“ i know , i know , i’m goin’. “ he waves you all off and you all say your byes.
even though you knew it , johnny was the next to go. he claimed that he didn’t want to head home and made his way to the lot. you offered him to sleep at your house but he nicely declined. and from the looks of it , dallas didn’t seem to like the idea of it either. johnny didn’t notice , somehow.
once johnny was out of earshot , dallas spoke up. and he sounded more than mad.
what the fuck is your problem tonight? “
“ what’s my problem? what is your problem , dallas ?! “ you whisper shout.
“ you’ve been acting like an ass , what happened to fake dating? “
you groan and mentally face palm , sighing.
“ my ex said he saw you cheating on me at the party the other night. “
“ what? “ he laughs dryly , amused. “ and you’re gonna believe him over me? what the fuck , [name]? are you fuckin’ — insane? “
you push him away and he frowns. “ maybe i am! now he’ll think we’ve broken up , and i bet he’ll tell the whole school! then it’ll go to flames! “ you sigh. “ honestly , you were no damn help anyways. “ you wave dismissively and turn the other way.
“ alright then , fuck you! you’ll believe your ex over your own friend? maybe you deserve to be humiliated at school. “ he spits , and even though it’s a dagger in your heart , you don’t turn around. your heartbeat is way too fast to that. and there’s no way you can give in.
you try to keep yourself together as you walk home ; you really do. but you can’t. your silent sobs turn into cries , and you just pray nobody can hear you. if they did , you think you would just pass away then and there.
you make it home , and slide open your window , crawling in and collapsing on the floor , and only then do you silent your cries to avoid waking up your parents.
did dallas really mean what he said?
the following day was saturday , but to you it felt like a monday. like you had to get up for something , though you didn’t , you just had an itch you couldn’t quite get to.
you decided that you wouldn’t go out that day , your parents wouldn’t be back til evening , you had just went to the movies , and you felt like absolute shit knowing what was going to go down on monday.
and the fact you had just lost a friend.
maybe you overreacted , sure. but he promised to fake date you and make sure
and to be honest , you loved dallas. you really did.
it started when you first asked him , it could’ve been anyone you could ask , it could’ve been sodapop to make it more believable , or johnny because of how two-bit claimed you both act the same , but you didn’t.
it started when you first asked him , it could’ve been anyone you could ask , it could’ve been sodapop to make it more believable , or johnny because of how two-bit claimed you both act the same , but you didn’t.
you picked the worst boy in the group , you picked dallas winston. and you believe your so , so stupid —
an object was thrown at your window.
you crack your eye open and hiss when the sunlight invades it. it’s too blurry for you to see anything , so you weakly swat at air.
“ go away.. “ you manage to mutter , but it obviously wasn’t even close to being heard when another series of objects that you make out to be pebbles come in contact with your window.
you sluggishly get up , and stumble over to the window , when you open it , you dodge a pebble without even trying to. you stare blankly behind you , mostly ignoring the person who was throwing things at your window. you hoped it was just a kid , or something , if they left you could go right back to sleep.
you almost didn’t register dallas hopping into your room without a word.
you wanna yell at him , scream , tell him to get out of your house , but you don’t.
instead you silently walk back over to your bed , lift the blanket , and flop onto your bed. you hear dallas light a cigarette , but you tune it out.
you try to tune him out in general , but it obviously doesn’t work when he speaks out to you.
“ hey. could you get up? “
“ that’s a bunch of work , man. “ you grumble.
“ alright , get up. i needa explain myself before you get all grumpy at me again. “
you already are , but without a word , you get up and sit on your bed. you push dallas away so he doesn’t sit next to you.
with a annoyed sigh , dallas begins to speak again. “ look , i don’t know why you would believe that shithead , but i ain’t cheat on you. “ you nod , not really believing him. “ you realize what he’s doin’ , right? he’s trying to ‘break’ us up so he has a better chance again. i was in my room all night. “
when you nod your head again , dallas can tell that you’re blankly not listening , he walks towards you and grabs your shoulders. and at this rate , you being fully awake , find the energy to tell him off.
“ get out of my house. “
“ you aren’t listening to me. “
“ because you’re a liar. i know you. “
dallas scoffs. “ you don’t know shit , clearly. “
“ what do i not know about you , dallas? “
“ hmm , i don’t fucking know , maybe that i’m not lyin’ and you’re believing your stupid ex over me , and the fact that i like you — “
“ what? “
“ wasn’t it obvious , [name]? “ he leans in close. too close.
and you realized all too late , it was obvious.
the way he accepted to fake date you so quick and was so happy about it , the pet names he slipped in every so often , the physical touch , the way he acted around you.
but you had to make sure.
“ like , you uh , love me? “
“ yes , you fucking idiot. i’ve loved you for a long time by now. why would i ruin my only chance to be with you? “ he says , he almost seems annoyed with the way he shakes you.
“ so.. what? “
“ what do you mean so what , you gon believe me or believe your ex? “
you both still in silence , dallas raises an eyebrow when you both make eye contact. you mumble something he doesn’t quite get , and he cocks his head closer to your ear. “ what? speak up. “
“ i said i believe you — i believe you dallas. “
“ it’s dal for you. “
you sigh. “ i’m sorry , dal. i’m sorry for not believin’ you and being an ass. “
“ it’s fine. i’m gonna beat that little shits ass when i see em’ though. “ he says as he backs away from you , and sits on your bed.
“ where’s your parents? “
“ work. wont be back til evening. “
“ evening , huh? “ dallas repeats what you said. “ it’s barley 6am , y’know , that could leave us time to.. “ dallas trails off , and it only takes a second to click what he wants.
“ wha — dallas — already? i mean , are we even — “
“ what we are is up to you , sweetheart. i personally have my own opinions , but your the boss. just make sure you aren’t flirtin’ with any guys , yeah? “ dallas teases and tangles his hand in your hair , you smile nervously , and fidget with your hands.
the action is slowly stopped as he took one of your hands and held it with his other , you jolted a bit when he pushed your head in for a kiss , you could barley catch your breath and the fact that this was the dallas winston giving you a kiss didn’t help with your breathing. when he pulled away , he couldn’t help but laugh at you trying to catch your breath.
“ s’pretty. can’t believe this is all mine now. “ he whispers to nobody in particular and gently pushes you farther onto the bed , and you feel yourself heating up already.
“ is this okay , doll? can i do this? “ he releases your hair and places a hand on your stomach , slowly trailing it up , you get goosebumps but you don’t comment.
“ y — yeah.. please.. “ your plead falls silent as he finds his way to your chest , and massages your breast.
“ tell me if i’m too rough. i don’t mean to be. “ and that’s something you didn’t expect from dallas , you expected him to maybe be rough , and just apologize after.
and that gets you thinking.
does he even know what aftercare is?
it’s honestly harder than you expected to focus on thinking and what he’s doing to you as of now. you thought it was a joke of how hard it is to concentrate in situations like this , but it indeed isn’t. not when he’s still apologizing for the things he said to you , which is surprisingly in itself to get an apology from the dallas winston , but he’s also telling you how great you’re doing and being ever so gentle.
“ dallas — “ he makes a sound of disapproval and you weakly clear your throat. “ dals , can you — can i — have a , uh - like , y’know.. a — “ before you can form the word , dallas’ lips are already crushed on yours , and you can’t bring yourself to pull away again , you just sink into the bed.
dallas removes his hand from under your shirt and he slowly travels his hand lower and lower , eventually finding a grip on your pants and panties at once , and you can’t say that you were ever ready for the way he pulled them both off and discarded them off your bed. in a desperate attempt of covering yourself , you stretch your shirt.
“ don’t gotta hide from me. god , so beautiful , doll. so beautiful. “ he grins as he pulls your shirt out of your hands , you look to the side in embarrassment , and instead cover your face. this time , dallas doesn’t move your hands away.
“ my face not.. “ you trail off as you watch him messily unbutton his jeans through a crack in between your hands , and you shiver as he drops them and you realize that he’s basically already made a wet spot in his trousers. “ wait — holy shit , dal , no warm up? come on — i don’t even know your size! “
you stabled yourself on his arms and he laughs , mixed with an inhale. “ mhm? you still need that even with how your dripping? i’ve barley touched you yet , man. “
you remove your hands from your face , and run one through dallas’ hair , and he removes his trousers. you don’t look down at all , you’re scared to. even as he leans down and goes for your neck , going way too high for any of your shirts to cover.
and you still don’t look. even as he whispers sweet nothing into your ears and slowly slides into you , telling you you’re going to be just fine when your breath hitches and you whine at the stretch.
you feel like your insides are being ripped , in a good way but at the same time , goddamn.
“ y’fine.. just fine.. gonna be alright , gonna be still f’me , yeah? “
you let out a choked moan as he goes for your neck again , except on the other side and lower than the last. when he pulls away , you nod. a very late answer but when he’s inside you and sucking on your neck it’s just ever so slightly hard to talk.
even though you knew he was gonna move eventually , you weren’t ready for it. he pulls out slowly , and like he promised , he’s gentle. a slow pull and a slow push.
“ bet your ex couldn’t do this. “ he groans , lightly picking up the pace as your sounds , aswell as skin going against skin grows with it. “ couldn’t fuck you like i will. “ he laughs dryly , grabbing your waist. you let out a whine mixed with a moan , and you render your hands utterly useless to save you.
it’s not like anyone is home anyway.
“ he couldn’t , could he? hmm ? “ he leans in close to your ear face , and you shake your head , in response , he makes a face of disapproval. “ words , doll , words. “ he urges you , and you have to actually think in order to say your answer.
“ n… fuck — no , he — he couldn’t. “ you gasp out most of the words , and that must’ve riled him up because his pace picked up even more , and at this point , words weren’t even possible. just gasps and moans , and whatever other sounds you could make out.
so much for gentle.
you get a tingling feeling in your stomach , and you notice at some points dallas sometimes gets sloppy and off pace , yet his grunts stay low.
you reach for the back of his head , and try to push it down , which he smiles at and leans down into yet another kiss , though this one is filled with messiness and saliva.
this time you don’t have to struggle for air , the amount of gasps you gave out were probably more than enough.
you whine into the kiss as that feeling in your stomach swirls , and suddenly you aren’t doing such a great job at that ‘ staying still. ‘
the kiss is broken with pants from both of you , what mostly disgusts you are the spit trail that falls right on your chest , even as heated as you are , it still feels cold.
“ e — ew.. dal.. t — that’s.. that’s fuckin’.. “ you try to manage , but you also can’t find it in you to actually complain correctly.
you sigh , and finally relax your shoulders. the pain on your neck doesn’t exactly go away.
you look up at dallas , and he looks absolutely beautiful. the morning sun coming in from your window makes him look like some sort of greek god , except for the fact he sure doesn’t act like one.
“ so.. “ he chuckles. “ how about a blowjob? “
“ dal , i’ll fucking kill you. let me recover. “

Jilted (not) Lover [Mitsuya Takashi x Reader]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Mitsuya Takashi x GN!Reader Word Count: ~2,100 [Ao3 Link]
Summary: Takashi is your best friend (who you have some more than friendly feelings for); so you don't understand why he never seems to want to spend time with you anymore.
Warnings: mild misunderstandings, kissing, no gendered terms for reader; reader is a bit insecure, and Takashi is a little less emotionally mature than normal.
Notes: wasn't feeling good so I finally sat down and wrote an idea I've had for a while. Probably needs more editing but I want to let it finally fly free
Tumblr media
You thought nothing of barging into your best friend’s room; after all, he gave you a spare key for a reason. “Takashi!” you called excitedly. “They let me off work early today! Do you wanna maybe go out and do something? I heard there was a new—”
You were cut off before you could even finish. “I’m sorry,” Takashi said, not even bothering to raise his eyes from the patterns in front of him. “I really need to finish this today.”
“Oh,” you said, deflating slightly. “Well, I could just hang around here if you want some company. I can help too!”
Still, you received barely any acknowledgement. “I’ve got it, I just need to focus. I’ll see you later, though.”
Your smile felt brittle. “Okay, sounds good. I’ll go see Yuzuha then. Don’t forget to show me your new design when you’re done.”
The door clicked shut softly behind you.
Later, you heard from Yuzuha that Takashi went out to the arcade with Hakkai that same day. You were hurt, but you wanted to think the best. Takashi probably just finished early and assumed you were busy. It was nothing.
Except it wasn’t.
-
Ever since the two of you met in middle school, you had never gone more than a few days without hanging out. Throughout high school you basically lived at his house, becoming almost like another sibling to his sisters. Even once you both graduated and got different jobs, the two of you spent most of your free time together. (Enough time together for you to develop a horrible infatuation with him, at the very least.)
And yet, for two weeks straight Takashi had been completely blowing you off.
He was always busy with last minute designs, or he had to take his sisters to something, or he already had plans with Draken or Hakkai or the old Toman members. Normally, he would ask you to tag along, but he barely talked to you other than to let you know he couldn’t see you or spend time with you.
You never said anything, keeping a nonchalant tone around him. But god, did it hurt. You didn’t know what you did wrong to deserve this treatment; you couldn’t remember anything. Maybe he had just finally gotten tired of you and was trying to let you down easy.
You did your best to ignore those thoughts. It’s Takashi, you thought. If there was something wrong, he would communicate with you. It was probably nothing. (You needed to tell yourself that to keep from breaking down.)
-
Even though your relationship with Takashi was at a standstill, you still talked to his sisters.
Today, you had come over to make the girls lunch before they left to go hang out with their friends. Takashi hadn’t come out from his room when you called.
[“It’s fine,” you said, “I know he’s busy.”
The girls gave each other a look when they thought you weren’t paying attention. At least these Mitsuyas noticed something was up, you thought bitterly.]
They were long gone, after thanking you for the food and each giving you an awkward teenager hug on the way out. You have the rest of the day free, so you take your time cleaning the dishes, in the pathetic hope that Takashi will come out and you two will go back to normal.
You think that your prayers are answered when you see him come down the stairs. He seems a little surprised to see you still there, and he gives you a small, distracted smile. Your heart flutters as you smile back.
You think he’s coming towards you, but he walks right by the kitchen and heads towards the door instead. “Thanks for making lunch for the girls. I’m sure it was great,” he says, lingering for a moment. “You can leave the rest of the dishes; I’ll get them when I come back.”
“Oh. Where are you going?” you ask. You can hear a nearly imperceptible buzzing in your ears. You wonder if you’re angry or just sad; it’s hard to tell sometimes.
“Just out with Draken. I’ll see you later, yeah?” He’s already opening the door to leave.
You try to keep your composure, but the way you slam the plate as you set it on the counter is telling. “Yeah. See you later, I guess.” You wince. Even to your own ears, you sound bitchy. And you were doing so well in keeping it straight...
There is a second of hesitation, and then the door closes. You busy yourself with drying the remaining dishes, not bothering to look up. Takashi probably left already.
But then you hear his footsteps as he comes into the kitchen. “Hey, what’s wrong?” he asks.
You still don’t look at him. You hate how concerned he sounds. Because of course he noticed how snotty you sounded; it wasn’t subtle. And Takashi was nothing if not a mediator, so he would obviously want to talk it out. But now, even after praying for the barest scrap of his attention back, you want nothing more than for him to leave you alone. You aren’t ready for whatever sort of conversation this is going to be.
On one hand, you are still hurt by how he treated you, how he hung out with you less and less as he replaced you with Draken and Hakkai. On the other hand, you feel like you’re being nothing but a spoiled brat. Takashi doesn’t owe you anything; he’s nice, so this is probably his own way of letting you know that you were too clingy and that he needed space while trying to spare your feelings. You just don’t want to hear that out loud.
At this point, you can feel yourself getting worked up. Your own thoughts buzz in your head like a swarm of angry locusts, rattling to the ever-quickening beat of your heart in your ears. You don’t quite know if you want to cry or scream.
He’s right in front of you now; you can see his shoes sidle up next to your slipper-clad feet on the kitchen floor as you valiantly avoid eye contact.
“C’mon, talk to me,” he says, voice softening even more. Because of course he can tell you are getting more upset.
“Just go,” you say. You sound muffled in your own ears. “Go hang out with Draken, or Hakkai, or your other gang friends. I’m fine. Leave me alone.”
“I’m not leaving until you tell me what’s up.”
“Oh, now that I want you to leave me alone, you won’t.”
“Hey, what is that supposed to mean?” He sounds a little offended now, and that just makes you angrier.
You spin around to face him for the first time. You can see how his eyebrows furrow, purple eyes glistening with concern as they take in your expression.
You lose your grip on your emotions. “Oh, what does that mean? I mean you’ve been ditching me for weeks now! Every time I come around, you’re too busy, or you already have plans with someone else!” You take a deep breath, trying to rein yourself in. “Look, if you don’t want to be around me anymore, just say something. Not any of this ‘hinting’ bullshit. Just…just say something…because I honestly don’t know what’s going on, Takashi.”
Your anger burnt through you quickly, like a flashfire, and you can feel your eyes starting to water.
Takashi looks stricken. One of his hands comes up to grip yours, using it to pull you into a tight hug. It only takes one murmur of your name, spoken gently into your hair as he tucks your head underneath his chin, for you to fully break.
There are tears streaming down your face now. You start to babble. “You’re my best friend, Takashi,” you say, pitifully. “I miss you.”
You feel his arms tighten around you, until you can almost feel your bones grinding together. It kind of hurts, but you are just happy to be held. His grip loosens soon enough, and he pulls back so he can look you in the eyes.
“I fucked up.” He smiles sadly at you. “I never wanted to make you feel like that. You’re my best friend too…but I couldn’t stay like that, and I didn’t know what to do about it.”
You feel your heart drop; you don’t understand. “What’re you trying to say?”
He lets out a sigh, and then reaches to clasp both your hands in his. His eyes dart around the room, nervously, before settling back onto yours. There is a quiet intensity in them that he only has when things are serious. “I want to be more than friends. I like you…romantically. I realized it a few weeks ago…you were always so special to me, and I didn’t understand why until Draken pointed it out to me.”
He let out a light chuckle. “I treated you differently than I did everyone else because I had—have—a crush on you. I didn’t know what to do about it, so I started avoiding you. I thought I would blurt out something that would ruin our friendship. I didn’t think about how it would affect you. I’m so sorry.”
You can’t believe what you’re hearing. It seems so inconceivable that he would return your feelings. You don’t even know what to say, so you focus on the end of his short speech. “So much for being the emotionally intelligent one, huh?” you say, tone lighter than it has been this whole time.
He lets out a self-deprecating laugh, tilting his head down. “Yeah, yeah. Guess I’m better with other people’s problems than my own. But cut me some slack, this is the first time I’ve been in love with someone before.”
You freeze. “Love?”
He already told you he had a crush on you, but this brings your thoughts to a halt. Love is a much more serious claim than a simple crush.
Takashi seems to think so as well. His face shutters. It’s clear he didn’t mean to say that much, but he doesn’t back down. “Yeah. Love. But it’s okay you don’t feel the same way. I’m good with just being friends. Or whatever makes you comfortable. Um. I owe you that much after being such a shithead, huh?” He looks uncomfortable, like he is just waiting for you to reject him. Like it’s inevitable.
You give him a sharp flick on the nose. “Idiot. Who says I don’t feel the same way.”
“…You do?”
You let out a snort, fighting to keep a grin off your face. “Like I wasn’t pining after you for years. God, Takashi, I follow you like a lovesick puppy, and you didn’t catch a hint?”
You open your mouth to say something else, but you’re swept back into his arms before you can. The two of you are face to face now; from here, you get the full force of his blinding grin. He’s smiling so wide that his eyes are nothing more than crescents of purple, his pretty eyelashes nearly brushing his cheeks. He looks breathtaking.
You break out into your own smile, unable to keep the happiness off your face. You feel so light, lighter than you have in a long time. The knowledge that Takashi loves you is like a shot of dopamine straight to your brain; you feel nearly delirious from the sudden rush of happiness.
“I love you,” he says. He sounds so tender when he says it, you can’t help but tilt your head up to press a kiss to his lips. It’s nothing more than a peck, but the touch of his soft mouth against yours sends sparks through your body.
“I love you too,” you say.
He looks at you in awe, before he leans down to steal another kiss from your lips, this one longer, and deeper.
You never want to leave; you would happily spend forever standing in the middle of his kitchen, trading heartfelt kisses and basking in the warmth of your love with Takashi.
-
(Draken wonders what happened to Mitsuya; he missed their hangout without so much as a “can’t make it” text. He can only hope the other boy finally got the balls to confess his feelings to you. He loves his sworn brother, but he’s getting tired of seeing Mitsuya avoid you. And he is definitely getting tired of hearing his lovesick ramblings. Well, if the two of you haven’t gotten together by now, Draken supposes he could always go with Yuzuha’s plan to lock the both of you in a closet until you worked things out.)

You go into Wades room at night but he’s not there after a horrible nightmare so you take the jump and use Logan as a shield instead??//You also act like Wade so Logan kinda hates you
Never
Summary: You search for Wade in the middle of the night after a nightmare, and he's not there, but his bestfriend is.
(Find What I’m currently writing by checking my pinned post)
Parings: Logan x Wilson!Reader
Warnings: Nightmares, mentions of violence, really just angst, no major warnings. I wrote this really fast and with really long nails on my laptop, so ignore any spelling errors. (Almost put "creaming" instead of "screaming" so yea)
Word Count: 1100
“Wade?” Your voice shakes, you had just woken up from a nightmare, and it wasn’t your usual nightmare either. It wasn’t sad or just scary. No. It was terrifying.
You had woken up in your room in the dream from the sound of someone screaming and yelling, it was Logan, you’d recognise that voice from anywhere. Ever since Wade had invited in his new roommate, he’s seemed to hate you, giving you sideways looks left and right, but you hadn’t done anything wrong, or at least you didn’t think you did.
But the same morning when you were awake, you and Logan had gotten into an actual argument, you knew he was drunk. Normally when he came home drunk, he would go to his room and just sleep it off, but this time was drunk and pissed because of something Wade had said, what it was, you didn’t know. But you were sure the entire argument is what led up to the nightmare you had. Another argument, but with violence.
Logan was so mad at you in the dream, you were crying and screaming in pain, but he continued to yell at you and throw everything at you including pots and pans until there was nothing else to throw at the wall, then-
“You’re still up?” The voice breaks you out of your thoughts and you turn to see Logan looking you up and down.
“Just can’t sleep.” You whisper softly.
“Why are your eyes red bub. What’s got you crying?” He tucks a thick cigarette into the pocket on his chest in his flannel and he takes two steps closer to you, making you cross your arms uncomfortably and bite your lip.
You knew it was just a dream, but it all felt so real.
“I just had a little nightmare, where’s Wade?”
“Vanessa needed him.”
Vanessa. His girlfriend. Or fiance, or whatever they called themselves.
“Are you okay?” He takes another step closer and reaches to place his hand on your shoulder, making you wince in fear, which he automatically pulls back.
“I’m okay Logan, it’s just normally when I have a nightmare, I’ll spend the night with Wade.”
“He’s actually good with comforting people?”
“Well it depends really… I’m his sister so-”
“And yet you two are completely different.” He sighs and crosses his arms over his chest, making him appear bigger. More intimidating.
“Sorry if I woke you up, I’ll just go back to my-”
“Do you wanna sleep with me?” He spits it out like fire, pausing for a second as his own words seem to surprise him. “Sorry I just… I hate to see you sad.”
“It’s okay… I’ve bothered you enough today.”
“It doesn’t count if I was drunk. You never bothered me, not as much as Wade.” He tells you, lifting his arm up and moving to wrap it around your shoulders, slowing enough to not make you wince. “Come on, I’ll keep you safe.” He brings you to his room, and the smell of cigarettes and pine wood immediately floods your lungs, you love it.
“Thank you…” You’re still unsure about it.
“Of course.” He locks the door behind the both of you, immediately going to his closet and pulling out a soft blanket. He knows you can’t sleep without one.
“Thank you.” You take the blanket and move to his bed, sitting with the blanket only over your lap.
“Hey uh… I wanted to apologise.”
“For?”
“For yelling at you earlier. I didn’t mean to scare you.” He sits next to you on the bed, and you can tell his usual hard attitude is no longer there.
“Oh um…” Your stomach drops, the nightmare coming back to you like a bullet just flew through your organs, making you feel sick, a tear falling down your cheek.
“Shit…” He scoots forward, using his thumb to wipe your tears, and you’re genuinely embarrassed. “I’m sorry… What’s wrong?”
“It’s nothing… God I’m such an emotional whore…” You chuckle to yourself but then see the look on his face.
“Don’t call yourself that.” He tells you, no joking tone in his voice. “What’s got you sad, be honest.” He gently strokes your cheek, and only then do you realise how close he was to you.
“I uhm… I had a nightmare.”
“I figured that-”
“About you.” He stills, not a word coming out of his mouth as he stares into your eyes. “You were so mad at me.” Your voice cracks, more tears falling down your face which he’s quick to wipe away. “You were… You were throwing everything at me… Hurting me… Then when there was nothing left to throw…” You whine a little, your eyes moving down to find his other hand, resting on his thigh. You bite your lip as you remember how painful it felt… The three claws lodged into your abdomen, as your mouth hung open in a broken scream.
“Hey…” He whispers, moving close and cupping your face. “Honey I wouldn’t ever hurt you.” He stares into your eyes with a sincerity you didn’t know was there before. “I wouldn’t ever dream of hurting you.” He leans down a little to reach your level, trying to be honest with you, and you take a deep breath. You know he’d never hurt you, but the dream felt so real. “How about… we get some sleep. You look exhausted.” He tells you, looking down at your pillow. You nod.
You lie down as his hands leave your face, and you feel him lie down next to you as he turns off his bedside lamp, but you face away from him.
When you feel his body pressing against your back, your breath hitches in your throat.
“Hey, are you still awake?” You nod, not sure if he saw it in the dark. “I’m sorry your dream scared you.” He tells you, his arm moving to wrap around your waist and pull you closer, his arm under your tank top, and you feel his skin. He’d taken off his shirt. “But I promise you, I will never hurt you. And if someone ever did hurt you, I would fucking kill them.” You chuckle a little and turn your head to look at him, your faces barely an inch apart. “Wade is my best friend… and you’re his sister.” He continues. “I would tear apart the entire fucking planet to protect you. Don’t you ever think otherwise.” He finishes by pressing a kiss to your cheek, showing you a softness you didn’t know he had before.
“Thank you, Lo.”
“Anything for you, angel.”

He's hiding something. You know he is. Logan has just been different. I mean he was always grumpy and short tempered but this was something else. You thought, or well you had hoped that your time in the void had really bonded you.
You were trash from another universe while he had gotten dragged through hell by Wade. He got you and you got him. You were a failure to your universe so they pruned you. Logan was the worst variant of Wolverine. Something felt nice about having someone else who was the worst with you.
Ever since you landed in Wade's universe you had only gotten closer. Both of you picking up odd jobs for money until you finally landed a steady bakery job. Horribly early hours and lots of hard work but it meant you could be home by lunch. Logan was often out late too. He wouldn't tell you what he was doing but he came back with enough rent money so you didn't question him. You used to eat lunch together. It was a way to make sure the both of you were actually taking care of yourselves. It wasn't anything fancy. Just sandwiches or pasta or something easy.
But for some reason Logan has been avoiding you. Constantly. To the point where he'd leave the room if you were there. It was really starting to bug you. You don't know what's going on with him. You catch him staring sometimes. His eyes are worn and broken. When you try and approach him they harden right back up and he stalks away. It was infuriating.
You finally reached your boiling point when you came home early from work one day. Your back aching and you're dead tired. You lean your forehead against the door, just taking a moment. Then you hear him laugh. You know it's him. He's got this unmistakable snort that he tries to hide but he can't. So he's just avoiding you, no one else. Its you. You're the problem and you don't understand why. In a fit of anger you slam the door open.
"Out! Everyone except for you." You point at Logan. The room clears quickly. Wade opens his mouth to say something but you glare with a ferocity so strong he shuts up.
"Good luck kitty cat!" He whisper yells before hurrying out the door.
"What?" Logan grumbles, his eyes averting to the ground. You scoff and throw your things on the couch.
"What is your problem? You've been avoiding me."
"Why do you fucking care? Not like we were close anyways." He asks with a roll of his eyes.
"Bullshit Logan. I'm asking because I’ve seen the way you look at me. I see you across the room look so sad but the moment I even take a step you're back to this shit." You gesture to his closed off stance.
He's running from you and you demand to know why. He puffs out his chest and stands up. Mumbling about how ridiculous this is and tries to walk away from you.
"Logan! For fucks sake!" You follow him, your anger morphing into confusion as he continues to run.
"Just tell me what I did?!" Your voice breaks as the desperation comes out. You just want him back.
"Nothing!" He growls as he turns back to face you. Slamming his hand against the wall. You jump as he cages you in. He's breathing hard as he stares at you. This is the closest you've been in weeks.
"Nothing. You didn't do anything wrong." His voice is softer, sadder.
"There has to be something Logan. I miss you." He sighs and clenches his fist.
Fuck he thought he could avoid this. That he could get you to run away before he fucked it all up but for some reason you're still here.
"I shouldn’t be allowed to be this happy. I mean just look at me.” Logan thinks so low of himself. He always has. He's a fucked up lost cause. Everyone he cares about dies or gets hurt and its always his fault.
"You make me happy." He confesses.
You make him feel unlike anything else. Like he's not the monster he was. You look at him and he just, smiles. It's weird and strange and a feeling he's not used to. It scares him to his core.
"Man you really are stupid." You say in disbelief.
"I...What?" Logan looks confused but you grab his face and kiss him.
He stumbles back in surprise but ends up taking control quickly. Pushing you against the wall and digging his hands into your hips.
"You make me happy too Logan, so please don't run away from me."
You comb your fingers through his hair as you tug him closer to you. He closes his eye as he leans his forehead on yours. The urge to shut you out is there, listening would be easier but there's a chance at real happiness right in in front of him and he'd be a fool to ignore it.
"Fuck it." He grabs your waist and pulls you tight. Smashing his lips onto yours in a messy kiss.
He can be selfish, just this once.
Just for you.

bug's summer fic fest ♡
Even though it’s your fifth date, you’re nervous like it’s your first.
It’s been a few months since then. Four of them, to be exact.
Steve took you to a drive-in on your first date. He confessed some weeks ago that he thought it’d be easier for you — doing something that wouldn’t require a whole lot of talking outright. By the end of the movie, a reshowing of Rocky Horror, you felt more comfortable with him and less like the buzzing ball of anxiety you’d been when he picked you up earlier that evening.
The second date was dinner, the third was mini-golf, and the fourth was a picnic.
The fourth date did not go well.
Steve picked the hottest day of the year to eat outside. He hadn’t meant to, of course, but he certainly hadn’t packed enough water to combat the heat. And being that he also forwent the sunscreen, the two of you were sweaty, miserable, and sunburnt by the time he brought you back home.
There was a world of bugs, too. The butterflies you hadn’t minded, but the wasps were a different story.
“I swear they’re antagonizing me,” you joked as you cowered into Steve’s side.
He was scared of them too, but he protected you anyway. “Well, what did you do to them?” he laughed with a pretty grin that made the heat and distant fear worth it.
“Nothing!” you giggled. “I’ve never done anything wrong in my life!”
Steve smiled down at you, sandwich crumbs stuck to the corners of his mouth. “I know that’s a joke, but I totally believe you.”
And as if the day wasn’t already going horribly wrong, a couple of asshole kids kicked a soccer ball in your direction and smacked you against the ear.
They were in kindergarten, practically babies, and their moms were very apologetic. And you, being too nice for your own good, promised them that it was okay — that it was an accident and that it barely even hurt.
That wasn’t totally true. Your ear was red and ringing then, and hadn’t lessened when Steve took you home. He got you into bed and nursed you back to health with a bag of frozen peas pressed to your ear and a million kisses.
“I’m sorry,” he’d whispered against the crown of your head as he held you to his chest. “I feel like I fucked everything up…”
“You’re not the one that whacked me in the face with a soccer ball,” you laughed.
“Yeah, but… It was really hot. And the bugs wouldn’t leave you alone…”
“They had a vendetta against me, I think.”
“Totally,” Steve chuckled.
Your jaw rubbed against the fabric of his t-shirt as you turned to look up at him. His scruffy chin jutted downward as he peered down at you. “You protected me, though.”
“Did I?”
“Yeah,” you smiled. “So thank you.”
He scoffed. “Don’t thank me. You’re hurt.”
“’S not your fault.”
“Yeah, but I’m the idiot who wanted to picnic in a hundred-degree heat.”
“You couldn’t have known,” you retorted softly.
Steve grew sheepish. With the hand not holding the frozen pack to your ear, his fingers brushed the length of your arm “So… you didn’t have the worst time in the world?”
“No, it was pretty bad,” you confessed, smiling when you felt his laugh rumble through his chest. “And I don’t know if I’ll ever go on a picnic again, but… I’m glad I got to be miserable with you and not someone else.”
You meant it.
As overwhelming as the afternoon had gotten, Steve made it a lot less agonizing. He was your focal point, your teddy bear, your soft place to land. The big bouts of anxiety felt less significant with him holding you. Besides, you don’t think anyone else would clutch you to their chest and hold a bag of frozen vegetables to your throbbing ear.
It wouldn’t feel as good with anyone else, either.
Steve’s smile curls against your forehead before he presses a kiss there. “I’m glad you get to be miserable with me, too, babe…”
The fifth date, though simple, had been carefully planned out.
He didn’t want a redo of the fourth one, lest you decide never to go out with him again.
So he asks you to wait a few weeks before seeing Labyrinth despite your enthusiasm for the new film. He promises to take you, but that he’d rather wait until everyone else has already seen it so it could just be him and you in the theater.
And you, having never been a fan of huge crowds anyway, accepted without question.
He only asks that you wear the same pretty dress you wore to the picnic. The white sundress with the puffy sleeves and the flowy skirt that stopped just above your knee. Since, you know, neither of you got to enjoy it last time.
Steve leads you hand in hand into the cinema two weeks later. Everyone else was too busy crowding into the theater to watch the new Karate Kid sequel, which left the entire auditorium to yourselves.
Well, mostly. There’s an older couple sitting in the middle off to the exit side. Steve jokes that they must’ve just heard that Labyrinth came out, and in two more weeks they’ll learn about Karate Kid. You giggle into your Slurpee.
The two of you settle in the very back of the theater in the center of the row. The theater isn’t dark, but it’s still dim — yellow in the faint lamps and the smell of buttery popcorn.
“Guess the means we can’t fool around in here, huh?” Steve quips, his shoulder nudging yours when he leans in to whisper to you.
Your eyes go wide, and your cheeks burn like a stove eye. “Steve!” you scold, much louder than you meant to. You shove him away with your shoulder, though you don’t really want him off you.
He reads you like a book and wraps an arm around you to press you closer to him. His musky cologne covers you like a warm blanket. Even in the dim light, his eyes twinkle when he grins down at you. “I’m kidding,” he promises.
“I was just about to thank you before you got all pervy,” you grouse lightheartedly.
“Thank me for what?” the boy scoffs. “For not taking you on the worst date of all time?”
“No. For… For buying my ticket and… for getting me snacks and everything…”
Steve shrugs. “That’s what a date is, babe. You let me do those things for you.”
“Yeah, but… You don’t have to do them, you know? But you do. So, thank you.”
You go sheepish, looking at him so shyly you’re practically peering at him from the corner of your eye.
You do that a lot — not get all shy (even though you do that pretty often, too), but thank him for being your boyfriend. He doesn’t know if that sort of excessive politeness has been conditioned into you or if you had an ex that never did anything worth thanking them for.
He doesn’t press the subject because he doesn’t want to stir up old ghosts. He remains curious about it nonetheless.
Steve squeezes your shoulder with one hand and digs his other into the container of popcorn in your lap. “Thank you for not dumping me after our last date.”
“It wasn’t that bad,” you promise, giggling.
“Yeah, ‘cause it was terrible!” he retorts dramatically. “I was scared you were gonna break up with me after that wasp started swarming you. And when you got whacked with that soccer ball, I was sure you were never gonna wanna see me again.”
It makes your heart hurt to think that he’d ever think something like that — that he’d been stewing over the whole thing long after you’d gotten over it.
“Honestly, I think it might’ve been a test,” you confess quietly.
“A test?” Steve snorts.
“Yeah, like… the world was trying to see if I liked you enough to suffer through second-degree sunburns, and bugs, and getting hit in the face, and… everything.”
The boy tilts his head to his shoulder. “And what did the world decide then, huh?”
“That I like you,” you admit, all quiet like it’s the first time you’ve ever said the words. Steve lost count around the millionth time they left his mouth. “Enough to do it all over again.”
“You like me?” Steve teases, as if your schoolgirl crush on him doesn’t give him schoolboy butterflies.
You nod and try not to smile too wide. “I really like you. And I’m scared to say the stronger word, so I won’t, but…”
“Stronger word?” the boy repeats with a laugh. His eyes go wide in realization a second later. “…Oh.”
“Yeah. Oh,” you mock with your own laugh, a lot more awkward than his had been.
You turn your gaze to the popcorn in your lap. Steve analyzes your profile for any hint that you might be kidding. He knows you’re way too kind to joke around with his feelings like that — or yours, for that matter.
“Well, you know what?” he lilts.
You smile to yourself but don’t humor him enough to look at him with it. “What?”
“I’m not scared to say the stronger word.”
Your eyes sparkle in the dim light when they finally flit up to him. “No?”
“Mm-mm,” he hums with the shake of his head. “Actually, I’m pretty brave, as it turns out.”
“The bravest.”
Steve beams. “Exactly. And I love the shit outta you.”
You smile so big your cheeks hurt. “I love you too, Steve Harrington.”
He kisses you when the room goes dark.
He’s not a teenager, so it isn’t obscene, but the peck is languid and full of the words he’d just said to you. He spends the next two hours whispering them into your ear. I love you, I love you, I love you.

Now that you were pretty much alone again, you pulled out the earrings once more to admire them, holding them in your hands and you had to urge to bring them up to hold against your chest. You’d never received such a gift before, you loved them. Maybe he really didn’t mean to hurt your feelings?
______________________________________________________________
A bored sigh left your mouth as you waited in the Gryffindor common room for Lily to return. Everyone had left to go to Hogsmeade but you hadn’t gotten your permission slip signed in time and couldn’t go. You hadn’t stuck around long, not wanting to cause a scene by arguing with the professor. You said goodbye to Lily and walked back to the common room to lie down on the couch. There was only a couple of third years around, everyone else was at classes or on trips out. You supposed it was going to be a very lonely couple of hours. You turned over to face the fireplace, watching the flames was calming and it relaxed you. You jumped when you felt something touch your leg, pulling them closer to you and spinning your head around to see Sirius standing next to you, his hands in the air.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to frighten you, was just wondering if I could sit here.” You didn’t say anything but you moved to sit up so he could sit on the other end of the couch. You bent your legs up towards you and looked at the couch arm, “What are you doing here?” Sirius scoffed out a laugh, “What? I’m not allowed to be in my own common room?” You rolled your eyes, “You know what I meant, why aren’t you on the trip with everyone else?” Sirius shrugged his shoulders, “Parents wouldn’t sign my permission slip.” You glanced over in his direction, “That sucks.” He made a noise of indifference, “No, not really, I wasn’t really going to do anything there anyways.”
You nodded and turned to face him properly, having to turn your head every couple of seconds was hurting your neck a little, “So what are you gonna do until your entourage come back?” Sirius chuckled and shrugged his shoulder again, “I’m not quite sure, how about you?” You sighed in thought, “Well, I was thinking about going to the library to do some homework.” Sirius blurted out, “No, that’s boring. I’ve got an idea. Wait here.” You were confused as Sirius jumped up from the couch and ran upstairs to the boys dorms. You didn’t want to just leave, that would be kind of mean, even if he deserved it. You weren’t exactly sure why you were being friendly to Sirius after what he did, but you had a feeling you were going to regret it.
You waited there for five minutes before Sirius finally returned, with a piece of fabric in his arm that looked like a cloak and a plain piece of parchment. You gave him a hesitant look, “What are you expecting to do with those?” Sirius just grinned and waved you over as he started walking out of the common room. You groaned as you got up and followed him, wishing you hadn’t said anything to him now. You should’ve known he would eventually rope you into one of his pranks. You’d only took one step outside and you looked around but didn’t see Sirius anywhere. He was right here, where did he go? You went to go walk down the stairs when you felt a tap on your shoulder behind you. You turned around but there was nothing there.
Just as you were starting to get creeped out, you felt something get thrown over your head and suddenly Sirius was standing right in front of you, “Hello gorgeous.” You rolled your eyes but couldn’t stop yourself from blushing at how close the two of you were, you were an inch away from touching. You tried to step back but Sirius put his arm around you to keep you close, “Careful, wouldn’t want to cloak to fall off and reveal us sneaking around would you?” While Sirius wouldn’t mind it at all if he was caught with you so close to him, you were worried what people might think about you considering what happened a couple weeks ago with the badges. You sighed but stayed close to him, “Where did you get this anyway?” “It’s James’, some kind of family trinket or something. Comes in really handy for pranks, and so does this.” He showed you the piece of parchment and you sighed, taking it into your hands, “And how does a piece of parchment help you with pranks?” Sirius reached over to tap it with his wand, “I solemnly swear I am up to no good.”
You looked in awe as text started to show up on the parchment, and then confusion, “Who are these guys?” Sirius grinned, clearly excited, “They’re us, me and the guys. I’m Padfoot, Remus is Mooney, James is Prongs and Peter is Wormtail.” You hummed, “So this shows you where everyone is in the castle? No wonder you lot get away with so much.” Sirius nodded, pointing to a corridor where you could see a couple of teachers passing then turned to face each other. While you were snooping, Sirius saw a teacher heading this way and covered your mouth, pushing you against the wall. You felt your heart racing and you blushed but once you saw the professor walk past you two, you calmed down. Sirius moved away from you, “Are you okay?” You looked down and nodded, “Yeah I’m fine.” Sirius could tell there was something up with you but didn’t question it, taking your hand and leading you in the direction of Filch’s office.
You wouldn’t admit it but it was kind of thrilling sneaking around without anyone knowing you were there. You doubted you would agree to do this on a regular basis but you could be persuaded to do it again. You saw Filch going into his office and just before the door shut, Sirius pulled you inside with him. You watched as Sirius pulled out his wand and whispered a spell that made the desk start to float. Filch gasped and cried out, watching in horror as the cabinets started flickering open and shut again. You had to hold back a laugh as he fell over trying to leave and Sirius put his wand to his throat to make his voice sound more ghostly as he shouted, “Get Out!” Filch whimpered and practically crawled out of the room and you heard him shouting, “Demon Furniture! Demon Furniture!” as he ran down the hallway.” Once the coast was clear, you let yourself laugh out loud, “Is he always this gullible?” Sirius chuckled but it was quieter than normal. He wasn’t really paying attention to what you said, too bust focusing on your laugh. He had never heard you laugh so hard before, he didn’t want it to end. He felt proud that he was the one who made you laugh like that.
You sighed in relief as you stopped laughing, it was starting to hurt your sides, you were laughing so much. You looked at Sirius, a smile on your face but it went away when you saw how he was looking at you. You cleared your throat, “What?” He stepped closer and looked into your eyes, “Can I show you something? But you can’t tell anyone else about it.” You nodded, this was possibly the most exciting day you’ve had all year, you wouldn’t mind experiencing a little more.
You followed Sirius out of Filch’s office, still hiding underneath the cloak. Having to be confined against Sirius was making you feel a little warm under your jumper. Just as your fingers fiddled with the hem, preparing to take it off, Sirius suddenly stopped in front of you. You didn’t manage to stop yourself in time and crashed right into his back, your hands instinctively clinging onto his sides to steady yourself in case you fell. Sirius felt heat rush to his cheeks having felt your body pressed against his back, your arms half wrapped around him. But as soon as he felt it, it was gone as you pushed yourself away from him to stand by yourself. Sirius turned his head to look at you over his shoulder, “We’re here.”
Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion as you looked straight at a plain stone wall, identical to many others within the castle. Sirius grinned at your face as he closed his eyes and started to think. You looked at either side, looking out for any students or teachers headed your way, but there was no one in sight. You glanced back at the wall and your eyes widened ever so slightly as you watched a pattern start to emerge on the wall in front of you. It grew and grew until it showed two large doors. Your mouth was parted in shock, how had you never noticed this before. A snicker ruined your awe and you glared at Sirius who did nothing to hide his amusement. He opened the door and headed inside waiting until you were both safely inside until taking the cloak off. You gasped as you looked around the room, it looked like a similar version of your common room but cosier, there was something about it that made you feel safe and protected. Sirius watched you wander about the room, “This is the Room of Requirement. It comes to those in need. Me and the guys found it a couple years ago.”
You had sat yourself down on one of the many couches in the room, “What would you need another common room for? All to yourself?” Sirius followed you to the couch, “It doesn’t always look like this, the room alters to fit what you need it for.” You nodded in understanding, “So why do you need this room?” Sirius shrugged, “I guess it’s where I feel most comfortable, where I see all the people most important to me.” You weren’t looking at him but you didn’t miss his pointed stare as he spoke. You tugged the sleeves of your jumper down over your wrists as you looked down at your feet, a rush of awkwardness overcoming you, “So what are we doing here then?”
Sirius shrugged and looked around, “Whatever we want, the room will adapt to bring us whatever we require, hence the name, so just name it?” You slowly spun around, eyes taking in everything that was laid out over tabletops and on the couches. Your eyes caught a familiar chessboard, “Want to play some chess?” It wasn’t the most interesting idea but it was all you could think of. Sirius hummed in thought, “Alright but we’ll make it interesting, after each game, the loser has to reveal something about themselves.” You sighed and rolled your eyes at him but sat down, of course he had to use this to pry into your personal life. But again, there was nothing else to do until everyone returned from Hogsmeade so you might as well waste the time somehow. You placed the chess board atop the coffee table in front of the fireplace and the two of you sat either side of it on the floor, the thick rug on the ground was warm and soft enough that it wasn’t uncomfortable.
Within twenty minutes, Sirius held a triumphant smirk on his face as his king smashed your queen into pieces, “Checkmate (Y/L/N), time to reveal your secrets,” he wiggled his fingers in front of you and you didn’t bother hiding a small smile as you looked up, thinking of what to say. “Um, okay, I’ll say that my favourite colour is red.” You looked at Sirius and was taken aback by his unimpressed expression, “What?” Sirius rolled his eyes, “That was nothing, rule change, you have to answer the winner’s question of choice with complete honesty.” You huffed, “Okay fine, what is it?” “I want to know what your favourite animal is.”
You shrugged in mild annoyance, “I don’t see how that’s much of a step up from my favourite colour, but okay. My favourite animal would be dogs , they’re just so cute and usually pretty friendly. My parents have three and I love them all.” Sirius smiled to himself and you raised an eyebrow at him but he shook his head, “Nothing, now come on, let’s go again.”
Almost two hours had passed and it was abundantly clear that you were out of your league playing chess with Sirius. You had lost every single game and had been forced into spilling the beans about your hobbies, wether Lily fancied James or if he had no chance at all, which classes you liked best, what the muggle world was like, your favourite things about the wizarding world etc. You had started to get bored of chess after losing so many times but you didn’t want to seem like a sore loser though you did nothing to hide the pout on your face as it appeared Sirius had the upper hand once again. Sirius smiled to himself as he watched you staring at all the difference pieces left on the board, your eyebrows furrowed deep in concentration as you looked for a way to win. He purposely moved his knight away to leave his queen open to be attacked and watched with restrained glee as you sat up in excitement, practically shouting, “Checkmate! Checkmate! Finally!”
Sirius couldn’t help the chuckles as he watched you and you couldn’t help filling up with embarrassment, your cheeks flushing red as you settled back down. You cleared your throat, “Okay now it’s my turn to ask you a question and you have to be completely honest.” Sirius nodded in return at your pause. You sighed and looked him in the eyes, “Do you really like me or is it all a joke?” Sirius’s face turned serious as he stared back at you, “I know everyone thinks of me as just some prankster, as some kind of ‘manwhore’ as I heard Molly say before, but I never intend to hurt anyone’s feelings. I don’t pretend to like someone for a prank, I know I went about it all the wrong way but I promise I do like you (Y/N), you’re different than the other girls, I can’t stop thinking about you. But you’ve said no and I’ll respect that now like I should have done in the beginning. I’m still really sorry about that and I’m glad we’re friends again at least.”
You bit your lip and nodded your head, his words seemed genuine and that was good enough for you. You gave him a soft smile, “Thank you, now come on, Lily and the others should be back any moment now so let’s head back, I’m satisfied now that I’ve won once.” Sirius got up and followed you out, using the map to show when it would be clear to exit the room of Requirement. You didn’t bother hiding with the cloak on the way back, the two of you walking in a comfortable silence back to the Gryffindor common room. The two of you headed inside of the painting and once it opened, you heard loud voices all chattering over each other, indicating everyone had returned already. Sirius turned to you, “Well, I had fun today maybe I can help you waste time again?” You scoffed, “I’ll think about it, it was pretty fun.”
Sirius couldn’t help the big grin on his face as he turned and walked over to the other marauders. You watched him walk away for a moment and just as you were about to turn away, you saw a piece of parchment fall out of his pocket and land on the floor in front of you. You quickly picked it up before it could get stood on and turned it over to see what it was. Your eyes skimmed over the paper and saw it was his permission slip for the Hogsmeade trip today, only at the bottom it was clearly signed by both of his parents. You looked up but he hadn’t seen you pick it up so you quickly folded it and put it into your own trouser pocket, heading upstairs to see if Lily had come straight back as well. You bit your lip, trying to ignore the warm feeling you felt in your chest as your hand gripped the parchment in your pocket.

Headcanons for genderqueer Kate coming out to Yelena?
I feel like queerness in general is still a bit of a learning curve for Yelena considering her oppressive upbringing (but that’s my headcanon! All good if you don’t see it that way)
No you are so correct my friend let’s see what I can cook
WALL OF TEXT GO
-we could start on her coming out as gay first honestly. She’s not exactly nervous about it but she’s already crushing on Yelena and doesn’t really know how to go about it
-plus the internalized homophobia is strong and horrible. Yelena knows about Gay People, yea, but she’s convinced herself that nobody she knows personally is queer and there’s no excuse for her to be attracted to women
-Kate decides to just casually drop it into a conversation by mentioning a past girlfriend or a woman she thinks is really pretty (cough cough Florence Pugh)
-Yelena is just giving her A Look and asks is Kate is attracted to women, and her tone isn’t exactly very nice because she’s freaking the fuck out on the inside
-Kate gets all quiet and nods and gets ready to be rejected in some form or another but Yelena is completely silent and just leaves
-she goes to Natasha immediately and kinda just has a meltdown because she realizes that yes, she is massively into Kate and yes, it feels awful and wonderful at the same time and she’s terrified and wants to run away
-Natasha says the right things but is also just kinda like “…you know that I’m dating Wanda/Maria/Peggy (choose your favorite) right?”
-she eventually decides that she needs to see Kate and apologize for how she left and heads back to her apartment
-Kate meanwhile is NOT having a good time. Miss girl is kinda just crying on the couch with her dog because she’s just like me actually
-Yelena knocks on the door for the first time in her life because she feels bad. She calls out for Kate when she doesn’t respond, but still the door doesn’t open for her and she knows she doesn’t have the right to pick the lock like usual
-she apologizes through the door and explains why she reacted the way she did and that she doesn’t think Kate is disgusting and maybe lets it slip that she’s kinda into her
-which of course prompts Kate to open the door immediately
-Yelena can see that she’s been crying and nearly bursts into tears herself “oh malen’kiy yastreb… I’m so sorry”
-unclear who moved first but suddenly they’re kissing and obviously it’s the fucking best cuz duh
-they’re dating for a whileeee before Kate starts to explore her gender. (Pretty similar to it went in some of the other posts I’ve made) but it makes her panic a little when she realizes that she should probably talk to Yelena about it
-Yelena knows something is up but doesn’t want to push it
-Kate is trying to work up the courage to just blurt it out but accidentally goes “would you still love me if I was a worm” and Yelena just goes of course stupid because Kate asks her that like three times a week
-except when she looks over at her Kate is on the verge of tears and looks so distressed and disconnected and something is clearly actually wrong
-Yelena asks if she’s ok and Kate just shakes her head and starts crying and Yelena is kind of expecting the worst because yes, Kate gets upset about things, yes Kate has cried before and struggled and had a hard time but this is clearly different
-“I don’t think I’m a girl, Lena”
-Yelena does NOT know how to respond to that but she can see that Kate is kinda goin through it so she just nods and says ok and they cuddle
-she takes the night to think about it, and meanwhile Kate is just panicking and stressing and trying not to cry herself to sleep but it also feels so good to have finally just voiced it
-they talk in the morning, and Yelena apologizes for not really saying anything but assures Kate she still loves her and doesn’t want anything about their relationship to change
-she’s never given gender much thought in the first place and she’s gotten so much more comfortable with stuff that’s lgbtq related and honestly if Kate needs something to be different in order to be comfortable Yelena will make it happen
-Yelena would explode buildings and dismantle governments for Kate Bishop ok

🎵 Hiya can i request Spencer and x reader with the Lyrics
I’ve found a reason for me to change who I used to be. A reason to start over new, and the reason is you - The Reason by Hoobastank
🎵
This yet again turned out way angstier than planned and I’m sorry for that. Hopeful ending though! Basically - what if Spencer didn’t get sober when he did?
The Reason
Tumblr media
Spencer Reid x Fem! Reader
Summary - Spencer’s drug addiction cost him everything: his job, his friends and the love of his life. When he finally decides to get clean, can he convince you that you were the reason for his newfound sobriety?
CW - drug use, mentions of weight loss, slightly aggressive behaviour, swearing, rehab, twelve step program, hopeful ending.
WC - 2.9k
Tumblr media
The hardest part of anything of a self destructive nature was how close knit you became with it. Addiction was now interwoven in the fabric of the Spencer Reid canvas, as much as any other facet of his life.
Leaving it behind, as he’d tried and failed to do many times, felt like severing a limb. Giving up his vice would be like killing the very part of himself that taught him how to survive.
Addiction was an inherently selfish disease. Somewhere along the line Spencer had stopped caring about anyone or anything that didn’t directly pertain to getting high.
What had started as him using when the torment got too much had ended up in him using simply to feel ok. As time passed he needed more and more of the drug to reach the high he craved. And in turn that made it harder for him to even consider the idea of quitting.
By this point his mind was clouded only by thoughts of drugs. It took a hold of him, wrapping its tentacles around him and dragging him down into an abyss of his own creation.
His addiction had taken everything from him piece by piece; little by little. It had gotten in the way of his job, his work obligations becoming less important to him than getting high.
And so he’d been fired from the BAU.
It had taken his health, his energy and motivation. He’d lost more weight than he had to lose, or so he’d been told. But it also took away his ability to see the world clearly and so he didn’t notice the skeletal form staring back at him in the mirror.
One by one it had destroyed his friendships. Some had held out longer than others, JJ and Garcia in particular trying to cloy Spencer back to reality far longer than anyone else.
But his drug use made him angry, almost aggressive. And eventually even his two best friends had given up on him. But honestly, Spencer didn’t even have the impetus to care.
Through it all, you remained stalwart. You were determined to stay by his side and help him every step of the way.
But once it became clear that Spencer didn’t want your help, there really wasn’t much you could do but walk away too.
Your two year relationship came to a sudden and horrible end one night when you’d tried to help him detox. He’d been drug free for twelve hours and thankfully he’d slept through most of that.
But when he woke up was when it all went so horrifically wrong and after that night you knew Spencer was no longer the man you’d fallen in love with.
He screamed and yelled and fought for you to let him out of the apartment, to let him buy more drugs.
One more hit, that’s what he kept saying. One more hit and then I promise no more.
With tears streaming down his face and trembling hands, looking more scared and lost than anyone you’d ever seen, it would have been easy to give him the world on a silver platter.
But you remained strong, blocking the doorway with your body and refusing to let him out. You tried to reason with him that he didn’t need them, that everything was going to be ok without them.
But Spencer was long past listening to reason.
The final nail in the coffin that had been your relationship was when he forcibly grabbed you by the shoulders and peeled you away from the door with more strength than you knew he possessed.
He threw you aside like you were a discarded gum wrapper and you fell to the floor in a heap. And maybe if that had just been the end of it, you might have been able to salvage things.
But it wasn’t the end.
You were quick to jump back to your feet, grabbing his wrist as he went to open the door. You spun him to face you and as if in a blink of an eye his tears had dried and the eyes looking back at you weren’t the same ones you’d known for the last two years.
His eyes were so dark they were black, pupils bleeding into the gold of his irises and swallowing them whole. Looking back at you was a man you didn’t recognise.
That was only further confirmed when he took you by the shoulders again and slammed you against the wall, causing a small whimper of pain to leave your lips as your back collided with the hard surface.
His grip on your shoulders was like a vice, his blunt fingernails digging into your flesh even through your shirt. He looked manic, evil; and that terrified you.
“I swear to god Y/N if you try to stop me leaving the goddamn apartment…” he spat, trailing off at the end of his sentence.
“You’ll what?” You bit back, despite the fear coursing through your body.
“You don’t want me to answer that. Do not make me choose between drugs and you, because I can promise you, you will not like the outcome.”
His grip on you tightened and you whimpered again, sure he would leave bruises.
“S-Spencer, you’re hurting me.” Your voice was trembling.
“No I’m not, don’t be so pathetic.” He snarled at you.
“You’re scaring me.”
“This is nothing compared to how scary I will be if you don’t let me out of this fucking apartment.”
You knew then that it was over. For the first time in two years you didn’t see the love he held for you pooling from his eyes. You didn’t know this man. You certainly didn’t love him.
And as much as you wanted to help him you knew you couldn’t. He was passed help. And you would only be putting yourself in danger if you stayed.
“If you leave,” your voice cracked with emotion. “I won’t be here when you come back. If you choose drugs over me then we’re over, Spencer.”
There hadn’t been even a hint of hesitation when he’d suddenly let you go, stepped back, shrugged and spoke again.
“You can see yourself out then.”
And that was the last time you saw him until, a little over a year later, when you received a phone call from the one person you never expected to hear from again.
***
Spencer Reid was not a perfect person. There were many, many things he wished he hadn’t done.
But taking the vials of dilaudid from the dead man who’d held him hostage was probably one of the dumbest.
He tried to get sober but the longer he used the harder he found it to quit. For a time he managed to hide his addiction from everyone, you included, but it quickly spiralled out of control.
Had he been in his right mind, there was no way he would have put anything above his relationship with you. You were the best thing that had ever happened to him, he still remembered meeting you like it was yesterday.
You were a student in Gideon’s class around his age and on the occasions when he spent his time away from the BAU shadowing his mentor at the university, the two of you had grown close.
You were his first relationship, he still even now didn’t really understand how someone like you was interested in someone like him. But he counted his lucky stars every single day.
But his drug use got out of hand and really the moment you walked away should have been the wake up call he needed. Unfortunately it wasn’t.
After that night he continued using for another ten months. That time passed him by slowly and rapidly in equal measure.
His whole life had fallen apart but all he could think of was his next hit. The small windows of clarity that came when he woke up in the morning didn’t last long as he often shot up before he’d even indulged in his first coffee of the day.
Being sober terrified him. If he was sober too long then he would have time to reflect on all the things he’d lost and all the things Hankel had done to him.
But then one morning before he stuck that needle in his vein, he ventured into his living room.
It had been months since he’d seen this particular room through sober eyes and maybe that was why it had taken him so many months to notice it.
It was innocuous in its smallness which paled in comparison to the rest of the room. Perhaps it was the sunlight seeping in between the cracks in the curtains, causing the item to shimmer that caught his attention.
He padded towards it, the small glint of silver set against the dark wood floorboards just to the left of his front door. When he reached it, he fell to the ground and picked it up between his fingers.
The cool metal of the chain tingled against his fingertips and he cradled the small pendant in his palm.
On your first official date when Spencer had taken you for dinner you’d told him about your affinity for birds.
Since you were a child you’d always loved the symbolism of them, of freedom and hope and new beginnings as well as courage and strength.
He kept that piece of information with him and on your first anniversary he’d gifted you the small silver bird necklace he now held in his palm.
You’d never once taken it off since he’d given it to you. And somehow it had remained on his floor for some ten months since the last time he’d seen you.
And for whatever reason that necklace was like a beacon to Spencer. It was a sign that something needed to give, that he couldn’t carry on this way.
So with the necklace still in hand he marched back to his bedroom and flushed the dilaudid down the toilet.
Then he called JJ.
Despite not talking to him in months she was more than happy to help her best friend. She checked him into the most elite rehab facility in the state, for which Rossi was footing the bill for. She stood by his side through the worst of the withdrawals, and he was visited by the members of his old team.
During the course of getting sober he needed to make amends. One by one he did this, first with JJ and Rossi, then Penelope, Hotch and Emily and finally with Morgan.
He was two months sober and still residing in the facility when he finally called you.
He didn’t expect you to come, that’s not why he called. But you came anyway.
He couldn’t even begin to comprehend how hard it was for you to visit him after a year had passed, after everything he’d put you through.
Yet somehow you’d put your hurt and your anger aside simply because he’d called you.
Sitting opposite you in the recreation room, all the things he’d thought he would say to you left his brain. Seeing you now the extent of the pain he’d caused you spread across your features and the only thought left in his head was how much he hated himself for putting you through that.
He looked down at his hands, the paper beneath his fingers. The twelve steps. The twelve steps of which he was stuck right here on number nine.
“The eighth step,” he whispered, tearing his eyes off the page to look back at you. “I managed the eighth. We made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all. The, uh, making of the list was the easy part. It’s the part that comes next that’s really hard.”
You stayed silent, lips drawn in a tight line and back rigid in your seat. You waited for him to continue.
“Step nine is the part that requires us to actually reach out to the people we’ve hurt and make amends with them. They tell us that the only exception to this should be in cases where trying to make amends will do more harm than good. Opening up old wounds, causing more pain.
It’s why it took two months of being here to reach out. I’m worried that in doing so I may have very well done more harm than good. But uh, selfishly, I needed to apologise to you face to face. And I’m sorry if that’s opened all those old wounds for you.” He ran his fingers over the paper by way of keeping himself tethered.
“I got used to you being selfish.” You replied passive aggressively and Spencer knew he deserved that and a whole lot worse.
“I don’t have any excuses, Y/N.” He sighed, rolling his lip between his teeth. “The drugs turned me into someone I don’t even recognise. They brought out the worst in me and you had to suffer the brunt of it and for that I am truly sorry.”
“Is that it?” You shrugged, sliding your chair back. “You wanted to apologise. You said it, I heard it. Are we done here?”
Spencer watched with a confused frown as you got to your feet, slinging your purse over your shoulder. He picked up the sheet of paper and stood too.
“Uh, I mean I guess so?” He pulled a face.
Why would you agree to see him and come all this way for only a few minutes?
He watched you turn on your heels and start towards the door while he stood scratching at the back of his neck. He stuffed the wrinkled paper into his pocket and as he did so his fingers brushed against the metal chain.
He freed it from his pocket and held it up so the pendant was in his eye line, the little swallow with its wings spread wide as if in mid flight.
Freedom. Hope. New beginnings. Courage. Strength.
Suddenly he took off after you, catching up to you in the gardens as you headed up the path towards the parking lot.
“We’re not done.” He called after you. “At least I’m not.”
Your back straightened and your pace slowed until you were at a halt. Cautiously you turned back to face him.
“What else is there to say, Spencer?” You exhaled loudly.
He walked closer to you and you noticed the necklace dangling from his fingers.
“Y/N, I am sorry that I hurt you. It’s something I’ve had to live with every day I’ve been sober. I wish I could take away all the pain I put you through but I can’t. But there’s something I need you to hear.” He gently reached out for your hand, turning it over so your palm was up and he placed the little bird inside of it, coiling the chain into your hand.
You wrapped your fingers around it once he let you go, holding it tight as if it might come alive and fly away.
“What? What do you need me to hear?” Your eyes gave way to your sadness, to the pain he’d caused you.
“It was finding that necklace that gave me the courage I needed to ask for help. It gave me the strength I needed to get sober. It offered me the hope that I could get clean this time, the freedom of knowing I didn’t need drugs to survive. It gave me a new beginning, it opened a door for me to start over.” He felt tears in his eyes and he fought to keep them at bay.
“Spencer, I’m really pleased you finally got sober, I am. But let’s not pretend it had anything to do with me or that necklace.” You swallowed, holding the chain tighter still.
“No one’s pretending. It shouldn’t have taken me as long as it did to realise and I can’t change that. But I found a reason for me to change who I used to be. A reason to start over new.” He sniffed, unable to stop reaching for you and cupping the side of your neck. “And the reason is you.”
Your own tears overflowed, one’s you didn’t realise had worked their way to your eyes. You loosened the grip on the chain slightly, letting your fingers brush over the metal.
“Spencer,” you mumbled. “I…”
“I know it’s probably too late for all of this and I can’t expect you to just forgive me overnight. But if you think there’s ever a chance you might one day forgive me…it would mean a lot of you would come and visit again.” He let his hand fall to his side again and took a step back.
You wiped your tears with your free hand and nodded slowly.
“Can I…I need to think about it, ok? I just need to process all of this.”
“Of course, take all the time you need.” He nodded.
You said your goodbyes after that and Spencer slumped back inside, convinced he would never see you again.
One week later when he arrived in the rec room to meet his visitor, you were sitting at the table waiting for him, smiling softly in his direction.
And taking in the small silver swallow in its rightful place hanging around your neck, Spencer felt hope. A new beginning unfolding right before his very eyes in the recreation room of his rehab facility.
As he slid into the chair opposite you and you reached across the table, brushing your fingers over his knuckles, he knew he’d found his reason for being put on this Earth.
And the reason was you.

Fire Family Freaky Friday AU
Zuko <--> Ozai
Azula <--> Ursa
Hello, @jn3m0 !!!! (Side note but @stardust948 and I wrote a bit on this exact idea and they made two amazing pieces of art for this so you should go look at those 😁).
1. Most of canon still happens, the only difference is that Ursa remains but she does still kill Azulon and Iroh is still away on his spirit mission. As time goes on, Ursa starts to notice how bad their family has gotten. She can’t help but remember the good days when they would go to Ember Island and be an actual happy family but it seems like there’s nothing that can be done anymore. Ozai is still craving more power, even though he’s Fire Lord, Azula (10) and Zuko (12) are still competing, Zuko is chasing after Ozai’s approval which it seems like he’ll never get and her and Azula’s relationship is strained to say the best. One night, Ursa tells Ozai that she wishes their family could be closer. When Ozai refuses to hear her, she decides to sleep in another room to avoid a fight. That night, a random trickster spirit happened to be listening and decided to have some fun with an ill worded wish.
2. Cue the panic the next morning. Zuko is the first to wake up because he’s now the strongest firebender and screams so loud (because I think that’s most people’s responses when they wake up in the wrong body) that he wakes Azula, who’s staying next door, up as well. (Azula: ZUZU! Shut up! Zuko, running into the other room because he thinks Azula is there but sees Ursa: Mom? Did you just call me Zuzu? Azula: Did you hit your head, dum-dum? I’m not mom. What-Father! I-I slept in! Give me a few moments and I’ll- Zuko: Azula? Azula: It won’t happen again. I promise. Zuko: A-Azula? Azula:….Yes? Zuko: Look in the mirror. Azula: What? Father, what are you-…AHHHHHH!!!) It takes them a few minutes to get everything straight but in that time they also realize that if they’re here then their parents must be in their bodies. Of course more freaking out ensues but, finally, the family calms down enough to actually talk. (Ozai: Your wish! You did this! Ursa: Not this! I didn’t mean for this to happen! Azula: Why are you complaining? I’m the one stuck in this powerless body. Ursa: Young lady- Azula: I think you’re the young lady now. Ursa: Azula! I am still your mother! You will not speak to me this way! Azula: How can you be my mother when you're two feet shorter than me now. Ursa: Ozai! Talk to your daughter! Zuko: This isn’t going to end well.)
3. To avoid detection, the family decides to act as if nothing is wrong. Ozai and Ursa attend their children’s training and tutor sessions, Azula gets started with Ursa’s daily tasks as Fire Lady and Zuko attends Ozai’s meeting as Fire Lord. (Can you believe that things go horribly very very fast?) Not only do Ozai and Ursa hate being the younger ones now, but they're both struggling with firebending lessons as well. Although for two different reasons. (Ozai: Ursa! Woah! Ursa: Sorry! I can’t control her fire. I don’t know how Azula does it. Ozai: Yeah, no kidding. You set half the garden on fire. Ursa: At least I’m making fire. You’ve hardly been able to do anything! Ozai: I know….maybe Zuko wasn’t as lazy as I believed. Ursa: I’ve seen our son train and lazy is hardly what I would describe him as. *Tries to simply point at Ozai and sends a blast of fire out of her finger* Ozai: And Azula has more discipline than you could ever know. Ursa:….Maybe we both need this).
4. Meanwhile, Zuko is struggling with keeping up with his father’s meetings and Azula is struggling with her mother’s list of duties. Zuko is flat out understanding nothing because he’s been so focused on his firebending that he hasn’t taken the time to really study much else. He has to find Azula after every meeting so she can explain to him what the generals said. (Zuko: Azula, councilman Raiko said we should increase funds to the-Woah! Azula, drowning in papers: Don’t say a word! Zuko: Are you okay? Azula: Everything needs the Fire Lady’s sign of approval. I have to sign off hundreds of documents, plan for our next dinner with hundreds of different councilmen and- Zuko: Do you need help? Azula: Were you not just coming in here to ask for my help, Zuzu? Zuko: Don’t call me that while you’re in our mother’s body. Azula: Don’t remind me I’m in her body. I thought mom just sat around all day. Zuko: She is Fire Lady. Why would you think that? Azula, shrugging: I don’t know. What about you? Being Fire Lord as fun as you imagined? Zuko: I don’t know how father does hit someone with a chair every day. Azula: Zuzu- Zuko: 😑 Azula: What are we supposed to do about the dinner in a week? Zuko:........ Azula: Zuko? Zuko: Panic.)
5. A week goes by with the family stuck in each others bodies. As time goes on, they do start to learn more and more about each other. It slow, but there is some progress. Azula catches Ursa struggling with bending and helps her out, Ursa notices that Azula doesn't know how to do her hair and helps her (even if she does have to stand on a stool to reach her head), Ozai gives Zuko some scrolls to help him with firebending and some points for how to deal with the councilmen and Zuko shows Ozai a couple tricks he learned from Iroh. It's certainly not easy but there are some really nice moments. As stated above, there is a dinner with the Royal Family and all the members of the noble class. The family get together before hand to talk about what they have to do to survive the night. As long as they stay silent and give simple answers they should be fine (they hope). Zuko goes in first with Azula behind him next to Ozai and Ursa. It's expected that Zuko, being in the Fire Lord's body, walks around and talks more than Ursa or Azula does. Most of the night goes on without any issues, Azula knows how to talk to members of nobility so she does a decent job in Ursa's body and, with Ozai next to him, Zuko does a good job being the Fire Lord. Then a councilman, who is very drunk, comes up to Zuko. (Councilman: Fire Lord! Ozai: Not again. Zuko: Again? Ozai: He always gets drunk at these events. Councilman: So good to see you! And Prince Zuko! Finally left mom's side, huh? Ozai: Yes, well, it was time. Councilman: I'll say. I think your old man here was worried that you'd never actually step into your prince- Ozai: I think that's good! We don't need to hear anymore. Zuko, coldly: Yeah. We don't. *Walks off.*) Zuko disappears for the rest of the night, leaving Azula to end the night and the family to go looking for him. They find him in one of the hidden rooms in the palace. The family get to have a little heart to heart where they finally talk about the past week but also how everything has changed in the last few years. It's not a full healing session but it's the most they've talked about these issues. The four fall asleep in the hidden room and wake up back to normal the next day.

DCAtober24 Day 3: Googly Eyes
I won't be doing every day on the list (because I tragically have to do schoolwork) but I needed to get on the daycare attendant grind.
Words: 1,400+ Summary: It's arts and crafts time in the Superstar Daycare
A few nights ago, you’d found a large bucket of assorted googly eyes. More accurately, Moon had found them, and you’d had to wrestle them away from him before he could fly around the Pizzaplex and stick them on anything he could reach. Once you’d safely hidden them and smacked him with some plushies to get him to back off, you’d told him and Sun that you’d have to use them all soon so a staffbot wouldn’t accidentally chuck them all out.
And this morning, Sun accosted you the second you stepped inside with his genius idea of what to do.
He’d been beaming with excitement throughout his explanation. Apparently, they used to do puppet shows in the early days of the daycare, and as any jester would, he missed them. You’d helped him get everything set up while the kids had their lunch break - and of course been humbled when your nice clean setup was ruined by children squabbling over which sock they wanted.
As of right now, Sun is gluing googly eyes onto his puppet at the front of the room, entertaining the kids by pretending the puppet is real and trying to get away from him.
“Mr Squiggles, please let me put this on you!” Sun implores. The puppet shakes its head, one eye stuck on the fabric and the other in Sun’s nimble fingers.
“No! I don’t need eyes!” Mr Squiggles argues in a high pitched voice, before reaching up and spinning Sun’s rays. Sun gasps dramatically, making the kids giggle.
“Mr Squiggles! We do not touch our friends without asking them first!” He waggles a finger reproachfully. Samira cackles, ignoring her own pink sock puppet in favour of watching Sun. You take advantage of the distraction and pick up the dropped glue bottles and eyes off the floor, placing them back on the kiddy tables.
“Oh. I’m sorry, Mr Sun,” Mr Squiggles looks down sadly (or as sad as a sock could look). “I’ve never really had a friend before.”
Sun gasps again. “That’s horrible! I guess all of us will have to be your first friends!” He looks out at the other children. “What do you all think? Should we ask Mr Squiggles to be our friend?”
There’s a chorus of “yes” from the children, one of whom calls out “I’ll be your best friend!”. Sun smiles and pats the puppet with his free hand.
“See, Mr Squiggles? If you want friends, all you have to do is ask!” Sun gives him a smile. “Alright everyone, let’s make some sock buddies for Mr Squiggles!”
The kids jump back into their craft time, occasionally arguing over materials but mostly behaving. Sun flits around, and you mirror him, checking in on them if they’re struggling and offering help.
Willow, in her usual Garfield shirt and blue overalls, tugs your hand as you walk past. You squat down next to her. “What’s up?”
“Um…” she trails off, embarrassed. You give her hand a reassuring squeeze, and she points to the beginnings of a puppet. “Can you help me?”
“I sure can,” you tell her, kneeling on the floor to better get to the materials. “How can I help?”
Willow points to the yarn at the center of the table. “I don’t know how to make hair.”
You mentally breathe a sigh of relief at the fact she’s asking you to do something you know. “Oh, it’s a bit fiddly. What colour do you want?”
She points to her hair. “This colour.” So, red, is what she’s saying. You grab the red yarn from the center and start cutting off strips with the safety scissors in the middle (the only scissors Sun allows in the daycare). You show her how to stick the yarn on with the glue, and to hold down until it dries to make sure it won’t fall off.
About five minutes later, she’s gotten the hang of it and bats your hand away with an excited “I know it!”. You get up to go and see if anyone else needs help, but her hand on your knee stops you.
“Mmm? What’s wrong?”
She looks at you like you’re stupid. “Are you making a friend?”
“Oh.” You hadn’t planned to, but she appears very much like the idea of you leaving her side without a sock to call your own would be unacceptable, so you sit back down and shrug. “Are there any puppets left?”
The answer to your question is chucked in front of you. Sean, sitting at the other end of the table, giggles as you pick up the yellow sock from the floor. When you raise an eyebrow, he squeals and says “Cosmo did it!” and points to his puppet.
Willow points to the materials in the table. “Your turn now.”
You give her a smile and obey, gluing on buttons and googly eyes and paper arms in between scanning for any kids that need help. Sun doesn’t seem bothered by your slacking, so you take that as permission to continue while he jumps from table to table.
Since arts and crafts was scheduled at the end of the day, by the time you bedazzle your sock in a way that satisfies Willow the first few parents have arrived to get their kids. You stuff the puppet in the pocket of your pants and keep track of the kids while Sun hands them off.
The crowd dwindles, and before you know it it’s just you and Sun in the daycare. You stretch, leaning back on the security desk as Sun closes the daycare doors.
“I think that went well,” you say, not in a rush to gather your stuff. Sun claps his hands.
“So do I! They all seemed so excited to have a new friend to take home. Although….” his eyes narrow. “Sean has been blaming things on his, so I’ll have to keep an eye on him.”
You smile. “I could say the same for you.”
Sun gasps, and suddenly Mr Squiggles is on his right hand, his left now resting on his hip. “I’ll have you know, Mr Squiggles is a sentient sock, not someone to blame things on! He is a close friend.”
“Oh, I have one too, actually.” You fish around in your pocket to pull your own puppet out, and hold it out for Sun. “It’s just a shitty one, but-”
“Language,” Sun says automatically, but he takes the gift and looks at it. “Did you make this for me?”
You scratch the back of your neck awkwardly. “Yeah, just cause like, we’re always hanging out together, and you’re my friend, so-”
You’re cut off by Sun sweeping you into a hug. “You didn’t have to make me anything! Being your friend is gift enough for me!” Yeah, you expected him to say something cheesy like that.
He lets you go and slides the sock on his hand, beaming. The new puppet is yellow with red yarn stripes on the bottom, and yellow paper rays on the top, with pom poms and ribbons on the hands to look like bells. In all honesty, it looks like something the kids made, but Sun doesn’t seem to care.
“Thank you, Sunshine,” Sun says softly. “It’s not often we get gifts.”
You roll your eyes. “That one was for you. I’ll have to make one for Moon, or I’ll never hear the end of it.”
Sun tilts his head to the side and spins his rays once. You know that look - Moon was speaking. “I think I would have to agree with you.”

Of Fire and Ice - Chapter 12
Tumblr media
Melissa Schemmenti X reader X Larissa Weemes
Summary: talking things through.
Words: 1242
Notes:*drops and runs away* sorry for disappearing….. working 3 jobs kills but I’ve now gotten a better job and only have to work 1 now.
Warnings: arguing
The walk back to the room was horrible. The silence is deafening and you feel yourself trembling, and you could feel the tension between all three of you. The moment you see the door your fight or flight starts kicking in again, but you know that you can’t run.
That’s where you are now, standing in front of the two of them sitting on the bed looking at you expectantly. “well… are we gonna talk about this?” Larissa asked kind of cold. you suppose that you should, you have a lot you need to get off your chest anyways
“look hun, you really hurt us when you ran like that. We just want to understand why, what was the purpose behind it? Was it something we did? She sound so meek when she speaks and It hurts your heart.
“No! Y-you didn’t do anything it was me I just I got into my head. Okay? ….i-I didn’t think about the repercussions when it happened. I just ran.”
Melissa looks at you incredulously “You just ran? That’s the answer that you’re giving us.” “you just ran that’s not good enough! you ran away the first time and now you’re doing it again I can’t trust you anymore!” That hurt, and Larissa was right. How do you expect her to trust you when you’ve done this, not once, but twice.
“Larissa that was different and you know that, you let me walk out you broke up with me.” You try to justify yourself and She looks at you Absolutely gob smacked “you could’ve fought harder, you could’ve stayed! I didn’t want you to go!”
“You put your work before us I tried. I sat there and tried, but nothing I did ever worked with you. I made time for you, but you couldn’t make time for me!” “Hey! This isn’t about your break up. That was in the past, and not what we’re talking about now!” Melissa stands up in between the both of you, making you realize that you were shouting.
“(Y/n) hon just tell me what was going on in your head. Help me understand.” Melissa has her hands on your shoulders looking you in the eyes. “I don’t know! I don’t know why it happened or when it started, but I started doubting myself thinking that y’all were gonna fall in love with each other and leave me. I couldn’t let that happen so my only logical thing to do was run! looking back, I was being an idiot.”
You look up at Larissa. “I’m sorry I left. I’m sorry I left the both of you. I shouldn’t have that was wrong of me, but I was scared. Both of you have been running through my dreams for as long as I can remember, now that I have both of you it was too good to be true. I didn’t know what to do. I was just waiting for the shoe to drop, but when it never did, I decided to drop it myself and I’m sorry.” You ramble trying to make sure you get it all out before you are interrupted.
“I just kept saying to myself they’re too good for you. They’re going to leave you they’re gonna fall in love with each other and they’re gonna run away together.” Melissa looks so hurt and Larissa looks shocked. “Do you really think we would do that do-“Melissa cuts her off “Why would you think that, I came here with you! I only met her because of you!”
They look at each other and smile “now that doesn’t change the fact that there is feelings here, but that’s so new…for all of us.” All three of you were standing in the middle of the room. Larissa pulled you to her holding you softly then reaches for Melissa. She walks to both of you entering the embrace also.
You sigh as you try to calm yourself down holding them like life lines, you look at the both of them. “so now what?” You whisper “This is a conversation that we need to have but I’m kinda scared.” You cling to them letting your nerves be known. “Well… could this even work? Or Is this just a this weekend thing?” Melissa asks quietly. Your breath shudders and you can feel yourself almost shaking.
This could all unravel you know that. You’ve made yourself accept that. 30 minutes ago you were going to run, but now that they’ve pulled you back you have a sliver of hope. Ultimately you know it’s up to them, for you it’s all or nothing and you don’t know if they would be up for that.
You look at Melissa you know she’s coming back to Philly with you but, you turn and look at Larissa and realize she staying behind. This would put her being the odd one out, and while you know that FaceTime and calling is a thing having someone being left out is never good.
The silence is almost suffocating so you’re about to speak up again but Larissa beats you to it. “I want to continue to teach at nevermore to be the principal there. I’m willing to make this long-distance thing work.If you are both willing to try it with me.”
Melissa puts her hand on her cheek, smiling up at Larissa, nodding before turning and looking at you both expectantly “hon, I don’t wanna do this without you. You know while this isn’t something that would normally happen in the “Normie” world, I see it’s very normal amongst the outcasts. I’m willing to try being in a relationship with both of you. If you’re willing to try it with me.” Melissa held your hand. looking between the both of them you nod, “okay…” you whisper “yes okay I want to try this with the both of you. I want to try this….”
They smile pulling you into them holding you firmly between them. “(Y/N) if you ever feel any form of self doubt again you have to talk to us about it.” Larissa nods “No more running, I know it’s hard for all of us but we need to open about these things if this will work.” You nod, realistically you know she’s right but you have hardwired yourself into thinking internalizing everything is just better. “I’ll try.” You look between them “I’ll try I want this to work I want it to work so bad.”
“Can we just spend today cuddling?” You look at them and the look at each other. “That something we can do.” they pull you to the bed you curl around Melissa as Larissa spoons you, the stress finally leaves your shoulders and you relax. “You know… this isn’t something I thought was ever going to happen to me. But I’m glad it is.” Melissa’s nails scratch at your scalp softly
Larissa giggles against your back “as long as you are a good girl we shouldn’t have any problems.” You groan “Rissa you cant say things like that….” “Don’t get your hopes up sugar you are not getting lucky tonight.” You glance up at Melissa and she kisses the tip of your nose. You understand why so you just snuggle down getting comfortable in your spot where you are the most comfortable, pressed comfortably between your girls.
This could work. You have to make this work. They are willing to try. So this has to work.
